The New Tab page is a blank page with a list of your favorite sites when you open a new tab.You have control over what appears on the desktop version of the page because it's called a shortcut.You are taken to the site when you click one of the thumbnail.The thumbnail of Facebook will lead you to Facebook.com.You can learn how to add thumbnail to your new tab page.Since those are controlled by an algorithm, you can't alter the thumbnail that appears on Chrome from a mobile phone or tablet.
Step 1: On your computer, open chrome.
You can usually find it in the Start menu or the Applications folder.If you need to open a new tab on a specific website, it will open on the New Tab page.Make sure you use the latest version of the browser.Click the three-dot menu.If you need to update your version of Chrome, a new page will load.The New Tab page needs to be enabled if you don't see it.You can type chrome://flags in the address bar of chrome.The box next to it should say "Enabled" instead of "Disabled" or "Default".You should restart Chrome if you make a change here.It's not possible to change the New Tab Page thumbnail on a phone or tablet as it only displays your recently visited websites.You can long-tap an icon to pull up a menu, but another thumbnail will take its place.
Step 2: It is possible to open a new tab.
You'll need to open a new tab if your home page is set to a specific site.To create a new one, click the next tab.
Step 3: Remove the pictures from your computer.
You can do this by clicking the three-dot menu that appears when you hover over a shortcut.You can only have 10 at a time, so you may have to remove a few to make room.
Step 4: Click the button to add a shortcut.
The address link and shortcut name will be shown in a dialog box.You can have up to 10 different things here.
Step 5: The website's address is entered.
You can either type or paste the full address of the website you want to appear on the New Tab page.
Step 6: Click Done.
The thumbnail will be added to the New Tab Page.After you add or remove a thumbnail or shortcut, you'll see a pop up that will let you reset your settings.
