How To Add Volume to Your Hair

You might be jealous of the high-flying hair styles you see on the runways.Don't give up hope!Anyone can have long hair with the right styling and haircut.

Step 1: You can wash your hair with a volumizing cleanser.

If you want to add lift to your hair, choose a formula that is specifically designed to do so.Kiehl's Ultimate Thickening Shampoo is one of the common volumizing shampoos.

Step 2: Only use conditioner on the ends of your hair.

It's great for detangling your hair and keeping it moist, but it can leave a heavy scent that can weigh down your roots. If you really need it, use a volumizing conditioner on the ends of your hair.Don't use conditioner if your hair is short or oily.

Step 3: If you still need more volume, wash your hair first.

If you need to condition your hair more than just the ends, apply your conditioner first. You can give them extra lift by giving them a little wash at the roots. You don't need to condition again if you only get the hair wash on your roots.

Step 4: You can get second-day volume by spraying your hair.

If your hair is limp and oily the day after you wash it, you should use a dry cleanser on your roots. The first 1–2 inches of your hair should be sprayed with the dry shampoo. If you want to comb through your hair, you need to massage the dry shampoo into your roots with your fingers. This will help absorb oil at the roots of your hair, where it builds up the most.

Step 5: You can apply a volumizing product to your roots.

Since volumizing products work best on wet hair, you should apply the product to your roots as soon as you get out of the shower. As you dry your hair, this will give you control.

Step 6: As you blow dry your hair, brush 1–2 inches sections with a round brush.

Since the brush grips from all sides, it gives you more control over hair. You can lift your roots with the brush if you hold it under your hair.To focus the air on the brush, you should use a nozzle attachment on your hairdryer. After you dry your hair, you should use the hair dryer and brush to dry it.If you have short hair, use a small brush. If you want to keep the brush out of your hair, hold it at your roots. If you flip your head upside-down, you can blow dry your hair without a brush.Different round brushes and styling techniques can be used for longer hair.

Step 7: Dry hair can be brushed in the opposite direction.

If you wear your hair parted so it falls to the left, brush it over the right or vice-versa.Use a high heat setting on your roots for 10 seconds, then use a cool-air nozzle to set the style in place. After your hair has cooled, brush it in a different direction.

Step 8: If you don't have time to dry your hair, put it into a bun.

If you have to get your hair done in a hurry, pull it as far forward as you can. When you pull it down, the roots will hold their shape so you have more volume. If you like to shower before bed, this is a good way to dry your hair.

Step 9: You can get extra lift by using rollers on the top section of your hair.

This is a great way to add volume to your hair if it is long enough for rollers. The center part of your hair should be sectioned into 3-4 sections depending on the size of the rollers.Wrap each one around a roller.Leave hot rollers in until they cool.If you use foam rollers that aren't heated, blast the roots of your hair with your blowdryer and leave them in until it cools. When your hair is cool, use your fingers to style it.

Step 10: If you want your hair to be taller, back comb it.

Teasing, or backcombing, is the process of combing your hair backwards to give it more volume. You can use a toothbrush to tease your hair.Hold a section of hair straight up and then comb it downwards. When you get your hair to its desired volume, smooth the top layer of it over the teased section to hide it.

Step 11: Curl your hair using a curling iron.

Curls created by larger curling irons are perfect for volume. You can either style the curls with your fingers or brush them out with a soft brush.

Step 12: Attach clip-in hair extensions to your hair.

Sometimes hair extensions can be used for more than just creating length.Extensions that are the same length as your hair can give you a huge volume boost.Attach the extensions a few inches away from your roots after dyeing your hair.Make sure your hair is thick enough to cover the extensions. If your hair is on the thinner side, clip-in extensions aren't as noticeable because they are placed close to the roots.Thin hair may not hide them if you place them a few inches away from the roots.

Step 13: You should wear your hair with a deep side part.

The more hair you bring onto the top of your head, the better. This will make you think that your hair has more volume. If your hair is too short for a traditional part, put it in the side.

Step 14: You should give yourself a zig-zag part for volume on both sides.

Right where your part normally starts is where you should put the comb.If you want to create a zig-zag pattern, you need to comb backwards at an angle for about 2 inches.A lot of volume will be created on either side of your part.

Step 15: If you want more bounce, cut your hair short.

Your hair is starting to look heavy once it is shoulder-length.If you prefer, choose a cut that hits between your chin and collarbone.Cut the sides closer to your head and leave the top NationMaster NationMaster. The top should be styled with a volumizing product and a brush.

Step 16: A cut that is blunt will give you the most fullness.

If you opt for a style with a lot of layers, it can make your hair look thinner. If you want to make your hair look bigger, choose a bob or similar style with a strong, blunt line across the bottom.Don't do blunt cuts with a razor. These can cause your hair to be limp and make it appear thinner.

Step 17: If you have short hair, put your bangs back.

If you want your hair to stand up or fall backwards, comb the front of it.It will give you more volume above your face, which is where most people are looking.

Step 18: It's a good idea to get highlights to add more depth.

If you don't mind coloring your hair, highlights can make it look bigger.Lighter highlights should be closer to the top, while lowlights and your natural color should fall towards the bottom.
