How To Adjust a Muffin Recipe for Jumbo Size Muffins
Many coffee shops and bakeries serve large muffins which are 3-6 inches across the top.How do they do that?By adjusting a muffin recipe.
Step 1: A jumbo pan is needed.
The pan is usually the same size as the 6 muffin openings. The needed utensils and bowls need to be gathered.Below is a list of things you will need.
Step 2: Take the ingredients and put them in one spot.
Step 3: The recipe calls for an oven temperature of 25 degrees lower.
Step 4: Place the wet and dry ingredients in separate bowls.
Step 5: With the least amount of stirring possible combine the wet and dry ingredients.
You want a wet batter, but you don't want to mix it so much that you make the flour part of the muffin rubbery.Muffins are light and fluffy. This can be described as "Combine until just mixed" or "Stir together until mixed".Batter will be irregular.
Step 6: The jumbo muffin pans should be lined with muffin liners.
Step 7: If you want to prevent the liners from adhering to the muffins, spray some pan releases or oil on them.
Step 8: The lined muffin pans should be filled with batter.
For a regular muffin recipe, divide the batter into 6 jumbo pan holes.
Step 9: If you want the muffins to bounce back when you tap them with your finger, bake for 5 minutes longer than the original recipe calls for.
