How To Adjust Alexa Volume

You can learn how to use voice commands to adjust the volume of Amazon's voice-controlled devices, such as the Amazon echo and echo dot.Even with loud audio sources, these methods will work.If your volume isn't loud enough, you'll have to connect it to external speakers.You can adjust both the regular volume level and the volume of "Sounds" for notifications and alarms.

Step 1: Say "Alexa".

If you say wake, she will listen for your next command.The default wake command is "Alexa," but if you have changed it to "Echo," "Amazon," or some other command, then use that instead.

Step 2: Ask if the volume should be increased or decreased.

The volume will be adjusted by one step up or down if you askAlexa to raise or lower the volume.Say, for example, "Alexa, lower volume.""Would you please lower the volume for me?" is a phrase you can make more meaningful.Simply saying, "Alexa, louder," will work as well.

Step 3: The volume can be adjusted to a specific level.

You can ask to change the volume to a specific level with 0 and 10 being the quietest.Say "Alexa, set the volume to 6."Volume is understood via percentage.All the way up to 100% would correspond to volume 2, which is volume 10.If you mention your units of measurement (%) after the number, the percentages will be adjusted.

Step 4: To silence the audio, ask the speaker.

Simply say "Alexa, unmute," and you'll be good to go.The volume will return to the level you were listening to when you unmute the audio.You can unmute by saying "Alexa, volume 3."

Step 5: To adjust the volume for newer devices, press + or -.

The buttons on the top of the device can be pressed plus or minus.

Step 6: To adjust the volume on devices with a volume ring, rotation the ring.

The ring on the top of the device needs to be turned clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.The current volume level will be shown in white by the light ring.

Step 7: The app is open.
