How To Apply Onion on Hair

A natural way to treat hair loss is with weekly onion juice treatments.Sulfur and vitamins found in onions have been shown to increase hair growth and promote health.White or red onions can be used if you want to use onions with more vitamins and minerals. You need to get the juice from a juicer or blender and then do the treatment for an hour.

Step 1: Put the collection and containers on the juicer.

Attach the pulp container to the base of the juicer by placing a collection cup under the spout. If you don't know where to find the parts for your juicer, use the manual as a guide. If you don't have a collection pitcher, any cup or bowl will do.Before you use your juicer, make sure it is washed with water and dish soap.

Step 2: Remove the outer skin from onions by slicing the ends off.

A single onion will yield about 4 cup of onion juice, which is enough for 2 applications.Remove the paper-like skin by cutting the top and bottom with a sharp knife. If you have a compost bin, you should discard these scraps.Yellow onions have the most sulfur and vitamins, but you can use any kind of onion you have on hand. Most of the vitamins and sulfur compounds are stored in the outer layer.

Step 3: The onion should be cut.

If your juicer allows you to drop large chunks into it, you can chop the onions in half and make 4 pieces. If you can't fit large chunks into your juicer, slice them in half again. The recommended size of fruits and vegetables is in the user manual.

Step 4: Feed one chunk at a time.

The onion chunk should be pushed down into the chute by using the appliance's plungers. If you want to avoid jamming up your juicer, don't add another chunk until you see juice come out through the spout.Don't use your fingers to push the onion into the machine. If you don't have a plunger, use the handle of a dull knife or stirring spoon to get into the chute.Continue this process until you have juiced all of the onion chunks.

Step 5: If you want to store the juice later, put it in a spray bottle or jar.

The easiest way to apply a scalp treatment is to pour the juice into a spray bottle.Store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. You can put it into a bottle with an applicator tip. When using onion juice, it is best to use it within 3 to 4 days before the acid will evaporate and make the treatment less effective.

Step 6: Remove the skin, then chop the onion into quarters.

If you want to peel off the outer skin of the onion, use a sharp knife. To make 4 chunks, slice it down the middle and cut each half in half.A single onion can produce enough juice for 2 applications. If you have one, toss it in the compost bin.

Step 7: For 30 to 60 seconds, blend the onions in a high-speed blender.

The onions should be put into a blender. When there are no more onion chunks left, set the speed to high and wait 30 to 60 seconds. It can take 15 to 20 seconds to blend a bullet. If you don't have a blender, slice the onions into pieces that are 1 inch in diameter. Then squeeze the juice from the garlic press into a glass.

Step 8: The top of the cup or jar should be covered with a layer of cheesecloth.

To make a collection cup or jar, cut a square of cheesecloth to fit over the top.If you don't have cheesecloth, you can use a coffee filter.Set a fine-mesh strainer over the top of the jar or bowl.

Step 9: Put the mashed onions on top of the cloth.

To hold the jar over the mouth of the cheesecloth, use your thumb and index finger on your left hand. The onion should be mashed onto the cheesecloth. You can save leftovers by pouring the mixture into an ice cube tray and sliding the tray into a large freezer bag.The onion cubes can be used to make another hair mask or in many recipes that call for onion flavor.

Step 10: Take out the juice from the sides of the cloth.

Put the sides of the cloth together around the onion and squeeze the juice out with your hands. You don't want to lose any juice if you hold the cloth over the jar or cup.If you're using a fine-mesh strainer, mash the onion with a spoon. The extra juice can be kept in the refrigerator for up to seven days.

Step 11: If you want, add 3 drops of lemon and lemongrass essential oils.

The smell of onion treatment can be masked by essential oils.Stir the mixture with a spoon if you don't mind the onion smell. If you have a skin disease like ringworm, Lemon has antifungal properties. The antibacterial properties of Lemongrass will strengthen your hair.

Step 12: Clean and dry your hair.

The vitamins and minerals from the onion juice will be absorbed better by a clean, dry scalp. If you have a product on the ends of your hair, you can only use it on your head.If your hair is dirty, wash it and let it dry.It is not recommended to blow dry it because the air and heat could cause a dry, itchy, or infections.

Step 13: You can do a patch test by putting some juice on your elbow.

Put a cotton ball in the onion juice and rub it on your elbow. If redness, burning, or irritation develops, wait for 2 to 3 minutes. It is safe to use on your hair.If you notice a burning or itching sensation or if your inner-elbow skin turns red, don't use onion juice.

Step 14: If you stored onion juice, put it into a spray bottle.

Carefully pour the onion juice from its storage container into a spray bottle using a steady hand or a funnel. If you reuse a spray bottle that has a cleaning solution, make sure to wash it out with dish soap and water. For 1 application, you'll need 8 cup (30 mL) of juice. If you don't have a spray bottle, pour it into any bottle that has an applicator tip.

Step 15: Cut your hair in the middle and massage the juice on your head.

If you want to spray your hair, use a comb to cut it down the middle. You don't have to brush your hair, just use your fingers to massage the onion oil onto your head.If your hair is dry, apply onion juice first and then massage it with coconut or olive oil.If you don't use a spray bottle, pour a quarter-sized amount of liquid into your palm and massage it on your head.

Step 16: To apply the juice, put your hair up and expose the back of your head.

To apply hair to the back of your head, use large clips, hair ties, or pins.If you have bald spots or itchiness on your hair, massage the oil onto it with your fingers. You can spray your hair in sections if you flip it over.

Step 17: On the sides of your head, spray the onion juice.

You can spray the juice onto balding areas if you flip your hair over to the right. It's important to massage it into the areas just above and around your ears because they can be prone to dry and flaky skin.It is possible to pin parts of your hair back to expose the side areas.

Step 18: Wait one hour and put on a shower cap.

If you put a shower cap over your head it will help retain heat and allow onion juice to soak in.If you don't have a shower cap, wrap your hair in a dry towel and get out of the shower. The juice will work its magic if the towel is put in the dryer for 1 minute.A cap will prevent the juice from getting in your eyes and cause redness and burning. If you experience a burning sensation, rinse your hair and then wash it.

Step 19: You can wash your hair.

After one hour, rinse your hair with warm water in the shower and wash it with a cleanser and conditioner. If you have alopecia, use a hair product that is made with Jojoba oil or grapeseed oil.If you have sensitive skin, onion juice should not be used as an overnight treatment. If you want the best results, apply the juice once or twice a week.It can take 3 or 4 months to see the results.
