There is a lot of confusion in the church about what it means to be anointed.kings and priests were anointed with oil to show they were different."Take the anointing oil, and anoint him by pouring it on his head, so they may serve me as priests," says the bible. The tabernacle was anointed to be holy.Ex."Take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings and it will be holy," 40 says. All Christians are anointed by the New Covenant. To be anointed now means that you have the Holy Spirit. The Bible can help you understand how to be anointed.
Step 1: Be chosen by God.
The priests were anointed in the Old Testament. It was a way of showing that they were special. The person who is chosen by God to set apart is a believer in Christ."Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the spirit in our hearts as a guarantee."Every Christian is a priest now."You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood and a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light," says 1 Peter 2:9.Thank you, Amen.
Step 2: If you have not already, put your faith in Jesus.
You are anointed when you become a Christian. The anointing that you received from Him abides in you, and you don't need anyone to teach you.As His anointing teaches you about everything, and is true and no lie, just as it has taught you, abide in Him.The Holy Spirit is the anointing that John is referring to.He says that as a Christian, you don't need to be taught because the Holy Spirit leads you into all truth."Don't listen to sermons, but you can know and agree on everything that any other Christian knows about the word, etc."All of us have the same Holy spirit. You can keep the anointing of salvation by following Jesus."I will remain in you if you stay in me," He said.As the Bible says, the best way to abide in Jesus is to continue rejoicing and remain in His presence: "rejoice always, pray without ceasing and give thanks in everything: for this is God's will..."The words of the Bible are: (Psalm 95:2).
Step 3: Share the faith.
It is possible for Christians to get an extra anointing or filling of the Holy Spirit in order to share the good news with others. This can be seen at a church. The Bible does not say that the disciples were "baptized" with the Holy Spirit. There are many times in Acts where the Holy Spirit re-filled them and other Christians so that they could heal others or share the good news."When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness."The same men who were filled with the Holy Spirit in Acts 1 were also filled again. Why?They could say the word of God with boldness. The purpose of an anointing is to enable us to share the good news of Jesus. The spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.I was sent by him to proclaim liberty to the captives and the blind to set them free.In order to save and minister to the lost, God will give us power, anoint us, and fill us with his spirit more.In order to claim the good news, Jesus was anointed.
Step 4: Be anointed and prayed for.
James asked if anyone was sick.Let the elders of the church pray over him and anointing him with oil in his name.Sometimes the act of anointing with oil can draw the Holy Spirit in a better way.The elders would want to heal the anointed person.David was anointed with oil."Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and, the spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward," says 1 Samuel 16.David was being anointed to be a future king of Israel, but this act seemed to draw the Holy Spirit to him more.
Step 5: Ask God to give you more.
If you are saved, you can still pray for more of the Holy Spirit."If you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" said Jesus.Jesus said, "You have not because you don't ask."You can always ask the Holy Spirit to fill you up.When you become more filled with the Holy spirit, you won't necessarily pray in tongues. You can show any of the 15 spiritual gifts."All these are the work of one and the same spirit, and He distributes them to each one, just as he determines," says 1Corinthians 12:1.The gift the Holy Spirit wants to give you is the one he will.
