It is always worth it to be nice to your sister.Your relationship with her is one of the most important relationships in your life.Treat her with respect and try to become her friend. You should spend time with her whenever you can.She can ask for help with her homework and go to the park.Staying calm and compromising with her is a way to stop the argument.
Step 1: Talk to her a lot.
Whenever you see her, talk with her about her life. You care about her experiences, that's what this behavior tells her.Ask her about her day and listen to her answer.Hey, Jane! What do you think about the new movie?Who are your friends at school? What are you doing together? What are you interested in doing after school?
Step 2: Treat her with respect.
You show someone that you are interested in their opinion when you treat them with respect. She will eventually respect you as well if you are respectful towards your little sister.Resist the urge to yell at her if she makes you angry. You should tell her that you are busy if she is bothering you.Even if she uses yours, don't use her things without permission.
Step 3: Don't get angry over sibling rivalry.
Older siblings are jealous of their younger sisters. They think that their sisters get more attention from their parents. It isn't your little sister's fault even if this is true. She doesn't have control over the behavior of your parents.Talk to your parents about your feelings.Schedule time with your parents each week.If you can stay up an hour later than your sister, ask your parents. You will have one-on-one time with your parents.Schedule family activities that will allow you to spend time with your family.
Step 4: Congratulate your sister.
You show your sister that you admire her when you congratulate her on something. If she looks up to you, she will enjoy knowing that you are impressed with her.She may even start thanking you in the future.Graduating into a new grade and doing well on a test are examples of achievements.
Step 5: Put your feet in her shoes.
When younger siblings are being mean or annoying, many of us are frustrated.Put yourself in her shoes first to address her frustration. It's easier to be nice to her if you're more familiar with her.Does she notice you?Older siblings are idolized by younger sisters. What is her age? Were you similar to her when you were young?Think about the things she doesn't like.Do they frustrate you?
Step 6: Stay calm.
The fight can get out of control if you lose your cool.Take a deep breath and then count to ten.Leave if you can't relax and come back later.Being nice to your sister will help you calm down.Speak calmly even if you are upset.Do not hit or push your sister.Think about your sister's words and listen to what she has to say.
Step 7: Do you think your sister should be upset with you?
It won't be your sister's fault if a situation upsets you.If your parents gave your sister one of your toys, you shouldn't be angry at her.She doesn't have control over the situation.Talk to your parents. When talking to your parents, be calm.
Step 8: Why is your sister upset?
It's possible to avoid a fight if you let your sister explain her feelings.People get frustrated when they think no one cares about their feelings.Listen to her and acknowledge her anger. You could say that you are upset with me.Why is that?I am sorry that I hurt your feelings.I will not do it again if you tell me why.Why are you so upset? Is there anything that I can do?
Step 9: You can find a compromise.
Try to find a solution that will allow you to stop fighting. It is possible that you will have to let go of something in order to come to an agreement. This can cause you or your sister to be upset. You might need a parent to help you stay calm.compromises include: Taking turns using your favorite toy Sharing a piece of clothing that you both like to wear Taking your sister along sometimes when you hang out with your friends
Step 10: apologize.
If your sister is upset, apologize to her even if you don't feel like you did anything wrong.Think about the reasons she is angry when apologizing. You can use these reasons to create an apology.I apologize that I used your favorite hairbrush.I will not do it again.I apologize for hurting your feelings.I really did not mean to.I apologize for eating the last cupcake.I didn't think about whether or not you would want it.
Step 11: Ask her what she enjoys doing.
Talk to your sister about what you can do together. You should try to find something that you both want to do.If you can't compromise, do one activity that she wants to do and another that you want to.Ask her what activities she likes to do.What are the things you like to do at school?Let's play! What would you like to do?
Step 12: Help her with her schoolwork.
You have a better understanding of schoolwork than your little sister.Offer to help her if she is having a hard time with math or spelling.Help her answer the questions on her own by explaining the assignment. There is a difference between helping someone and doing homework for them. She won't learn anything if you give her all the answers.
Step 13: They should do something quiet together.
Quiet activities are a great way to hang out with your sister.Go into your sister's room if you want to hang out.Tell her that you want to be alone.Reading books, playing video games, and drawing on your phone can be included.
Step 14: Together, go somewhere fun.
We get bored with our schedules.Going somewhere fun will add some excitement to your hang-out time.Make sure you have your parents' permission to leave the house with your sister. The park is one of the fun places to go.
Step 15: You can find other ways to show you care.
You can still show your sister that you care if you don't spend a lot of time with her.If you have a driver's license, you might be able to take her with you on a few errand.Making her breakfast in the morning, leaving a nice note in her lunch box, and taking her with you when you hang out with friends are some examples.
