Would you like to use the Welcome Wagon to welcome new contributors to the community?"Welcomers" are people who are trusted to use the Welcome Wagon feature.A simple test is all you need to become a welcomer. The steps required to become one are explained in this article.
Step 1: Before you apply, get some experience.
Before you apply, your account needs to be at least a month old.If users come across problems, you need to be able to help them. You don't need to know every policy, but you should know how to be friendly and encouraging, and point people in the right direction. You can greet newcomers from the new contributors page. This will help you to pass the test.Ask other Welcomers questions.Having feedback from a real person is the best way to improve. For active welcomers, visit this list.
Step 2: If you pass the test, be familiar with your role as a Welcome Wagon user.
There is a guide on how to use the welcome wagon tool. You will get an explanation on how the tool looks.
Step 3: The Welcome Wagon test can be taken.
You can visit and read the new user scenarios.Write about at least five of them.Don't copy from a template if they are positive and personalized. No need to include the questions with your responses, you can write your answers in an email or a doc. Each answer has a number.Make sure the numbering matches the numbers on the test and "User2" right above that answer. The "Writing a Welcome Message" section of How to Welcome New WikiHow Users is where you should use the steps. The same way you would post a message on a talk page.If you wish, you can weave links and text with, italic, and/or underline.
Step 4: You can email.
You can send it to jayne. If you get a reply in a week or so, you'll know if you passed the test.If you pass the test, be sure to include your wikiHow name in the email so that the Welcome Wagon rights can be added by a staff member. If you don't pass on your first try, you will lose heart. If you try again a month later, you can practice other skills. You can add yourself to this list if you pass.
