Being organized is an important part of being a student.Middle and high school students need to organize their schoolwork. If you prioritize your to-do lists, organize your school supplies, and stay on top of your assignment due dates, you will be well on your way to becoming an organized student.
Step 1: Have a routine for the morning.
Having the same routine every morning is a great way to stay organized. You will have your routine memorised so you will be able to remember things. It is more difficult to forget things at home if you do the same routine each morning.Your morning routine should include a healthy breakfast and a quick check of your backpack to make sure you have everything you need.To help your morning run more smoothly, you may want to gather your things the night before. You could pack your lunch, put your things in your backpack, and lay out your clothes.
Step 2: As soon as you get the assignment, start projects.
Rather than waiting until the night before an assignment is due, try to begin working on homework and other projects as soon as you know what the assignment will be.Waiting until the last minute to complete homework assignments will make you feel disorganized and make it harder to organize other aspects of your student life.If you organize your life to include time for homework every night, you will be able to stay on top of your schoolwork more effectively. If you don't want to start a project right away, write it down in a planners and remind yourself to work on it.
Step 3: The color code for your materials is subject.
You might want to have a blue book cover, blue folder, and blue notebook. You might want to have a pink book cover, pink folder, and pink notebook for History.A large notebook could be used. You can easily get what you need for each class if you look in your locker or backpack. If you organize your school supplies in a way that makes sense to you, you will be able to save time and money.
Step 4: Purchase a large backpack.
A backpack is a must for any student.Once you are out of elementary school, you won't be able to fit everything in your locker.Everything will be with you at all times if you have a big backpack.A large backpack will allow you to bring everything you need to class.Having the supplies you need at each class is a big part of being organized.
Step 5: Have an agenda.
If your school does not provide these, don't worry. You can buy them on your own and they are easy to find.Every piece of homework for that class should be written down after each class. All of your homework should be in the agenda at the end of the day.The school agenda book can be found at any office supply store. They are sold at most grocery stores and supermarkets.
Step 6: Purchase more supplies.
To become an organized student, you will need to buy other things.Products and school supplies are designed to make organization more manageable.Purchase a big trapper keeper. If you want your things to look different, try to get supplies that are different colors. When you don't have a lot of time, this will help you pick out what you need.
Step 7: Each class should have a supply list.
Every day you need to be prepared. You need to keep a record of the things you bring with you every day.Make a list of everything you need to bring to class the next day.Talk to your friends and teachers to find out what you need. It's helpful for students with A/B or block schedules who have different classes on different days. You don't want to leave supplies at home if you forget which classes you attended. You have to figure out how to lighten your load. You shouldn't bring things like a calculator to P.E.
Step 8: Know when projects are due.
If you want to be a successful student, you need to keep due dates in mind.Purchase a white board or cork-board to write on when projects are due. This will help you remember deadlines. If your teacher and parents allow it, you can work with friends to get the project done quicker.
Step 9: Make a to-do list.
If you want to be an organized student, you need to prioritize your work on a daily basis.Make a list of the things you need to do each day, with the most important items at the top so that you know to work on them first. You will still accomplish your goals as you work down the list. You will be doing it in a methodical manner.Try to do the bulk of your work when you are naturally the most productive. If you are more alert in the mornings, then you should get up before school and do some homework.Try to create a schedule that will allow you to stay up later to work on school assignments. Some days your productivity will be better than others.
Step 10: If you need help with your study schedule, ask your teachers.
Even if you don't know what to do in class, ask the teachers for help setting up a study schedule. They can help you and give you advice. If you are having a hard time finishing or organizing your schoolwork, stay after class and talk to your teacher. When it comes to academic matters, your teachers are your best ally.Don't be afraid to talk about your struggles with them.
