How To Change the Startup Sound for Windows 7 and 8
The facility that Microsoft removed to change the startup sound in Windows 7 and 8 is still there.You don't have to know how to find it.There is a way to change it.
Step 1: The Sounds icon can be found in the system tray.
Step 2: The option is Sounds.
Step 3: If there is a check box that says "play startup sound", then you have to uncheck it.
Step 4: The dialogue box needs to be closed.
Step 5: You can open Windows Explorer.
Select "Folder and search options" from the "Organize" menu.Go to the "view" tab and look for the check box that says "Hide extensions for known file types".If it's checked, remove it.Select "Folder and search options" when you go to the "view" menu.To find the check-box saying "Hide extensions for known file types", go to the "view" tab.If it's checked, remove it.
Step 6: The dialogue box needs to be closed.
Step 7: Go to C.
For Windows 7 and 8 the users name is UsersUsernameAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup"
Step 8: A text document is created.
Step 9: Don't change the code, open it and paste it exactly.
strSoundFile and strCommand are used to enter the source of the startup sound file.
Step 10: You can save the file and close the Notepad.
Step 11: If you want to change the name of the file to something, use the dot before "vbs".
Step 12: Finished!
The new sound will play when you start your computer.
