You may think of the most awesome name when you first open an account.It's easy to change your name as time goes on.
Step 1: Changing your display name will change two things.
When you leave a message on someone's talk page, your name will show up in the list of contributors.
Step 2: You can click on My Preferences.
Step 3: The box contains basic information.
Step 4: The "real name" field is where you can enter your desired name.
This doesn't have to be your real name, it can be any name you want, and it's a good idea to abide by the policy.Your usernames will be used to attribute your work if this field is blank.
Step 5: At the bottom of the page, click on Save.
Step 6: You can change your display name as often as you please.
Step 7: When you use a wiki signature, this will affect how your name is displayed.
A signature is made by typing.
Step 8: You can click on My Preferences.
Step 9: The box has a signature.
Step 10: You can enter any desired word or phrase in the "Signature" field.
Step 11: At the bottom of the page, click on Save.
Step 12: Read the policy.
One of the criteria is that you want to have your usernames changed so that they don't violate policy.You've been active on the site for a long time and have grown your account.People don't get confused if you announce your name in the forums.You signed up for Facebook because you have a full name, and you would prefer an anonymous one.Your account is closing.You didn't like the name you chose for your account.
Step 13: If you don't meet any of the criteria, change your display name.
