How To Change Your VPN on PC or Mac

You can change your PureVPN settings on PC and Mac.Your operating system can be configured with an app.Both Windows 10 and MacOS Sierra make it easy to connect to a virtual private network.

Step 1: Click the Start button.

The button has the Windows logo on it.The task bar can be found in the lower- left corner of the screen.This opens the Start menu.

Step 2: Click on the settings.

There is a gear in the left sidebar of the Windows 10 Start menu.This opens the settings menu.

Step 3: Click on the network and the internet.

It's next to an icon that looks like a globe.

Step 4: Click to go to a website.

There is a side menu to the left of the Network & Internet menu.

Step 5: Click to add a connection.

It's the first option in the menu.

Step 6: Under "VPN provider", select Windows.

Select "Windows (built-in)" from the drop-down menu at the top of the VPN menu.

Step 7: You can type a name under "connection name".

This can be any name you want.It could be the name of your provider or a location.

Step 8: The server name or address should be typed.

The box labeled "server name or address" should be used to type this information.You can get this information from your PureVPN.

Step 9: Select a type.

If you don't know what type of connection your provider uses, contact them or select automatic.Your choices are as follows.There is a possibility that this is not the case.

Step 10: You can choose a sign type.

Pick the type of sign you want to use to sign in to your PureVPN.Your options are as follows.

Step 11: You can use your user name and password.

If it is necessary, use the last two lines to type your password and user name.

Step 12: Click to save.

The form you use to set up your PureVPN is below.This will take you back to the network and settings menu.The "VPN" connection you just created will be listed at the top.

Step 13: Click the connection you just created.

All connections are listed under "VPN" at the top of the menu.

Step 14: Click to connect.

This connects you to the internet.You can connect to any connection you have created in the menu.Click "Disconnect" if you want to stop using a VPNs connection.If you need to change the PureVPN info or add more settings, click below the connection name in the list.

Step 15: You can click on the Apple menu.

There is a menu bar at the top of the screen.

Step 16: Click System Preferences

The second option is in the Apple menu.This shows the System Preferences applications.

Step 17: You can click on the Network icon.

The icon looks like a blue globe with white arcs.

Step 18: You can click +.

Below the Network menu is a list of network connections.

Step 19: Under "Interface", you can choose a PureVPN.

To select the interface type, use the drop-down menu next to "Interface".It is near the bottom of the menu.

Step 20: Select the type of internet service you want to use.

To find the connection type, use the drop-down menu.It's a good idea to consult your PureVPN provider to find out which connection type is required.There are three options.

Step 21: You can type a connection name.

You can name the connection anything you want.You can either name it after the provider or the location.

Step 22: You can click create.

This creates a connection, but it needs to be configured.

Step 23: The server address should be typed.

To enter the server address provided to you by your PureVPN, use the line labeled "server address".

Step 24: You can type the account name or the remote ID.

If you are using "L2TP over IPSec" you will need to provide the name of the account.You will need to provide the remote ID and local ID if you are using an "Ikev2" VPN type.Your PureVPN provides this information.The drop-down menu can be left as Configuration.

Step 25: Click on the settings you want to use.

You can see the menu where you include your password.

Step 26: Select the type you want to use.

Click the radial button if you want to know the type of Authentication you use.If you are using a password to sign in to the VPN, you can type the password you use in the bar next to it and then select "Password" at the top of the list.If you are using a Certificate, follow the instructions if you choose to do so.

Step 27: You can type the secret.

Select "Shared Secret" and then type the password in the box next to it.If you don't know what the Shared Secret is, consult your PureVPN provider.Click on "Certificate" if you are using a certificate.Then click again.Click if you want to select the certificate from the list.

Step 28: Click OK.

There is a window in the bottom right corner.This saves your passwords.

Step 29: Click the advanced option.

There is a button in the lower-right corner.This shows the PureVPN options.

Step 30: Click Ok if you want to send all traffic over a PureVPN connection.

This makes sure that your internet activity is done through a PureVPN.The advanced options can be closed by clicking in the lower-right corner.

Step 31: Click Apply.

The Network menu is in the lower-right corner.This applies to your settings.

Step 32: Click to connect.

This connects to the internet.The top of the Network menu will say "Connected" if the connection is successful.The menu bar at the top shows a rectangular icon with bars through it.There is a timer next to it that tells you how long you have been connected to the internet.Click the icon to see a list of all the connections.If you want to connect to a VPNs, click any of the ones in this list.
