How To Charge Your iPhone without a Charging Block

Step 12: Determine if you can fix the cable.
A pair of wire strippers and some shrink tubing can be used to fix the cable if it has a lump near the end.It's probably cheaper to buy a new cable if you don't already have shrink tubing.
Step 13: The casing should be removed from the area.
Use a sharp knife to make a hole in the cable and then cut around each end of the hole to remove the piece of casing.When you do this, be careful not to cut through the shielding.
Step 14: Cut through the damaged part of the cable.
Once you've identified the section of the cable that's damaged, you can make a cut through it.The cable will be cut in two pieces.
Step 15: Remove the wires from the metal.
Use the wire strippers to remove the protective shielding and expose the three wires inside of one of the chopped cable's ends, then repeat with the other end.You can use the wire strippers to remove the rubber shielding from the exposed wires once you've done this.
Step 16: The cables should be twisted together.
Using the bare metal wire that's exposed, connect the two parts of the cable back together by twisting the red and black wires together.Make sure you don't twist the colors together.

Now that your two halves of cable are connected and protected, slide the shrink tubing over the exposed area and apply heat to it to shrink it.The cable should be usable once the tubing has shrunk.This isn't a permanent fix.You should get a new one as soon as possible after your repair.
