How To Chase Your Dreams

It can be frightening to make the decision to chase your dreams.By breaking the path to your dreams down into manageable goals, you can make the transition to a new life much easier. You just need a good plan to achieve your dreams.

Step 1: Break your dreams down into a statement.

You need to be able to set your dreams in stone in order to come up with a plan that will help you achieve them.Make a list of what you want out of life with a pen and paper. To make a singular mission statement, use that list.If you want to make a change in your life, try to narrow your dreams down to one statement.I will start a newspaper, become a cartoonist, or live in California.

Step 2: Determine your current situation.

You need to determine what skills you have that can help you accomplish your goal, what sacrifice you are willing to make, and how much risk you can take.Do you currently possess the skills you will need to achieve your dream or will you need further training? If you want to know how much your dream will cost, try to figure it out.If you want to learn to play the guitar, your budget requirements may be higher than if you are trying to open a business.Depending on the scope of your dream, you may be a long way away from being a position to achieve them but don't get discouraged; a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Step 3: There are obstacles that prevent you from pursuing your dreams.

Challenges in your life can affect your ability to pursue your dreamsConsider what sacrifice you are willing to make to overcome those challenges. When it comes to chasing dreams, money is the most common limitation. You may need to wait for some time in order to save money, or you may have things you are willing to sell in pursuit of your goals.A lack of skills or training is one of the limitations.A list of possible solutions is what you should come up with.

Step 4: To achieve your dreams, make a list of goals.

The basic framework of your plan will be provided in this step.Start by establishing a few broad goals and then identify some smaller ones.If you want to open a restaurant, you need to learn to cook.If your dream is to become a musician, your first goal could be to perform a live show, with a sub- goal of purchasing the amplifier and other equipment necessary for a concert.

Step 5: You should complete your plan.

Establish your plan to chase your dreams now that you have identified your goals and obstacles. To put yourself in a position to achieve your dreams, you need to create a step by step list of what you have to do.You will need to start with the very first task.It could be that you start saving for your next step, or you could start looking into education programs. If you use your goals and sub- goals to guide your checklist, you will have reached your ultimate goal by the time it is completed.

Step 6: You should start completing the tasks on your list.

You are one step closer to your goals when you complete each task. You might be able to complete more than one step at a time. The checklist can be used to keep you on track. To complete the tasks on your list, you need to make a commitment to yourself. If you find it hard to focus on the task at hand, look for ways to get motivated.

Step 7: You must be a person of action.

It is easy to stay in the planning stages for a long time. There will come a time when you need to start taking action to make your plan a reality. You must go after your dreams and not just talk about them. You have to make a habit of doing what you say you will do.It's a good habit to hold yourself to your word.Stay focused on what you are working for and imagine what your life will be like once you achieve your dreams.

Step 8: Don't be afraid of letting go.

The fear of unknown is one of the biggest challenges facing a person that chooses to pursue their dreams. It is not possible for you to know if you will be successful in your pursuit or if your standard of living will eventually be like that.It is possible that you will eventually need to leave your job. These changes may be necessary in order to follow your dreams. As you work toward your goal, you may need to give up hobbies or spend less time with your family or friends. As you strive to accomplish each task, you will need to accept that.

Step 9: Seek other people that can help.

You may know people that are already working in the industry you want to work in, or you may have friends that already live where you would like to live.As you begin to take steps to reach your dreams, these people can be valuable resources. You can network to find people with similar interests. As you continue along with your checklist, they may be able to provide you with guidance or support. If you want to follow in the footsteps of people that have succeeded, look to them.

Step 10: Don't lose sight of your dream.

You may find yourself losing motivation as you work towards your goals. It is important that you remember what you are working on and how you want to get there. You can use your checklist as a daily reminder.Once you have accomplished your goals and achieved your dreams, focus on where you will be.

Step 11: You should be grateful to those who support you.

When someone helps you accomplish your goals, make sure they know how much you appreciate them.If you show gratitude, people will be more likely to help you again and you will feel better about yourself as well.Send someone a thank you card when they go out of their way to help you, as soon as you can.You can show your appreciation for those that support you by telling them how grateful you are.

Step 12: As necessary, change your plan.

Some aspects of your plan need to be changed along the way.You may need to adjust the scope of your dream slightly as you get a better idea of what it will look like.Don't be afraid to change your goals as you pursue them to keep them realistic and beneficial to your causeIf you find that a goal you listed is not necessary, do away with it or adjust it until it would benefit you.As long as the plan continues to point you in the right direction, you don't have to change anything.

Step 13: Enjoy the process.

Don't forget to live your life. You may burn out if you devote all of your time and energy to a single cause. If you want to enjoy being with friends and family from time to time, try to devote yourself to a line of work you enjoy.Allow yourself some time to enjoy life on a regular basis, because the journey is as important as the destination.Even if you never accomplish everything you set out to do, you will still enjoy your life.
