How To Check an IIS Event Log on Windows

You can find a list of all the saved log files on your computer by using Windows.

Step 1: You can find the search button on your computer.

You can see the button next to the Start menu in the lower left corner of your screen.This button will look like a white circle if you use Cortana.

Step 2: You can enter the event viewer.

All the matching results will be listed as you type.

Step 3: You can find the event viewer in the search results.

The event viewer app should show up at the top of the results.Clicking opens a new window.

Step 4: The Windows Logs folder has an icon next to it.

The left sidebar of the event viewer has a folder on it.Below the folder name, it will expand the log categories.

Step 5: On the sidebar, click Application below Windows Logs.

The application logs will be listed on the right-hand side of the event viewer window.

Step 6: The Source is at the top of the list.

The event viewer has columns like Level, Date and Time, Source, and event ID at the top.To put the list in alphabetical order, click here.The source column has "IIS" in it.

Step 7: There is an event log on the list.

To see the recorded log, double-click on the event that you want to check.
