Herschel backpacks are well-known for their sleek style and minimalist color design. It can be difficult to know how to clean these bags if they get dirty.Spot cleaning is an option if you want to avoid machine washing.Handwash and air-dry your backpack if you want to give it a thorough cleaning. You will be ready to use your bag in a short amount of time.
Step 1: Take everything out of the backpack.
Take everything out of your bag.You don't want any of the spot treatment to get into your things when you clean your bag.During the cleaning process, you want the freedom to flip and turn your bag around. All of your items should be placed in a different bag.You can stack them in a corner until you clean your backpack.
Step 2: The spots should be brushed over with a makeup brush.
Use a soft makeup brush to wipe off the dirt.As you remove dirt, use gentle strokes. The bag's material could be damaged if anything with tough bristles is used.If there is a lot of dirt on your bag, try brushing it off outside or over a trash can.If you don't have an extra makeup brush on hand, use a paintbrush.
Step 3: There is a stained area.
A small amount of soap can be put on a sponge or cloth.Make sure the stain is saturated with cleaning product by spraying it at the area.If the stain is bad, put it into the backpack.Allow the backpack to air-dry for several hours until it is no longer damp. There are soaps with "sensitive" or "gentle" on the label.A general rule of thumb is not to use harsh laundry detergents to treat stains.Foreign dye can transfer to the bag if you use a light-colored sponge or cloth. You can use a toothbrush for this.
Step 4: If you are going to wash the bag, let the soap sit for 30 minutes.
Allow the soap to soak into the material by setting the backpack in a clean, well-ventilated area.Wait at least 30 minutes to wash the entire bag.The backpack should be air-dried until it is no longer damp to the touch.Make sure the backpack is open when you clean the inside of the bag.
Step 5: Before you clean the bag, take everything out.
Take everything out of the bag and put it away.If there are pockets on the exterior or interior of your bag, be sure to check them for loose items.Set all of the objects aside so you can put them back into the bag later.Since you will be soaking the bag, make sure that there are no electronics or delicate items left in the backpack when you wash it.
Step 6: Dust and crumbs can be removed with a portable vacuum.
Take a small, handheld vacuum and use it to clean the inside of your bag.If you use the appliance on a low setting, you can focus on vacuuming the dirt and debris from the bottom of the bag.The vacuuming makes the cleaning process as thorough as possible, so don't worry if you miss a bit of dirt or dust.
Step 7: The bag should be placed in a basin of warm water.
Put water in a bin or basin that is mostly full. When selecting a basin or bin, make sure you choose something that can soak your backpack. If you use a large basin or tub, fill it up with water. The color of your bag can be altered by using hot or boiling water.
Step 8: The backpack should be washed with mild soap.
Use a rag or brush to remove soap from the exterior and interior of your bag.If the spot treatment didn't work out, you can use a toothbrush to chip away at the mess.If you want to wipe your bag down instead of scrubbing it, you should use a sponge. It is possible to turn the backpack inside out when cleaning the inside of the bag.
Step 9: Remove the bag from the water.
You can refill the basin with clean, cool water by dumping out the dirty water. The backpack should be soaked in the basin instead of being held under the faucet. Before you take the bag out of the water, make sure it's submerged.wringing the bag over the basin will remove the excess dripping water.Once you rinse the bag, dump the water from the basin.
Step 10: Let the backpack air-dry by blotting it with a towel.
Wrap the bag in a towel and set it aside. If you can, put the backpack in an area with a lot of open air.Give it a day or two to dry, and check periodically to see if the material is dry.If you hang your bag up to air-dry, make sure your pockets and zippers are open.If you can, try to avoid drying your bag in the sun.
