How To Clean a PopSocket

PopSockets are useful for getting a better grip on your phone, but they can get dirty with time and the glue that sticks it to the back of the phone can become loose. If you want to make your PopSocket look like a new one, simply soak it in water and scrub it with soapy water.

Step 1: Place the cold tap water in the shallow dish.

A shallow dish, such as a small bowl or a deep plate, can be filled with very cold tap water. You should clean the plastic grip separately if you want to soak the PopSocket.Even if your PopSocket is larger than normal, using only a small amount of water will ensure that only the glue side touches the water when it is extended.

Step 2: Put the popsPopSocketocket down in the water.

Pull the plastic grip on the PopSocket to remove it from your phone. The plastic grip should poke above the surface of the water if you place the side down.If you want to avoid getting the rest of your PopSocket wet, you need to make sure it rises above the surface.

Step 3: Remove the PopSocket after it soaks for 10 seconds.

Don't take the water out before 10 seconds are up.Shake off any excess water after 10 seconds by taking it out of the water by the grip.Don't let it soak for more than 10 seconds. If you're worried about ruining the glue, run the PopSocket under cold water for a few seconds.

Step 4: Put the PopSocket up on the paper towel.

Depending on what you have, you can use a regular kitchen towel or a linen towel.Lay the PopSocket with the sticky side pointing up and the design and plastic grip on the paper.

Step 5: The PopSocket should be dry for 10 minutes.

Keep an eye on your PopSocket as it dries to see if it finishes sooner. If you want to make it less sticky, avoid using a hair dryer or a towel.Attach it to your phone by pressing the sticky side onto the back of the phone. If you let your PopSocket dry for more than 15 minutes, it may lose its ability to stick. If you accidentally leave it out, run it under cold water for a few seconds and then let it dry.

Step 6: There are additional stickers at the end of the PopSocket.

Before you clean the PopSocket, you need to remove the stickers. If the sticker is still good after you clean it, you can put it back on, but you will have to throw it away.Even if you add more stickers to the grip, it will still have an aesthetic design because it comes with a design on the end.

Step 7: Run the plastic grip under the cold water after removing the PopSocket.

If you want to turn your water faucet on cold, you have to pry the PopSocket off of your phone.Run only the plastic grip of the PopSocket under water, if you must, wrap the glue in a towel to prevent it from getting wet.If you get it wet before you clean it, you could cause it to lose some of its stickiness.Wrap it so it doesn't get wet while it's being cleaned.

Step 8: The plastic grip should be scrubbed with the corner of a soapy rag.

Hold the PopSocket by the sticky side and scrub the plastic grip with a soapy rag.Don't use soap on the glue, and only scrub the plastic parts of the PopSocket. The PopSocket's middle section has grooves that you can scrub with a cotton swab.Apply 70 percent rubbing alcohol to stains and then rinse it under water. It's a great way to remove stains as rubbing alcohol leaves no damage.

Step 9: Dry the grip with a paper towel or rag.

Taking care to avoid getting the glue wet, run the grip under water to get rid of soapy suds and rubbing alcohol.Take a dry rag or paper towel and wipe the PopSocket dry.Put it on the back of your phone. The plastic grip can be dry.On a paper towel, balance the PopSocket on it's side. This will prevent the towel from sticking to the grip and allow it to dry.
