The front screen is the only thing that needs to be cleaned on the rear projection TV.The picture quality can be affected by dirty components.The components need to be cleaned as well.
You can clean the front screen by spraying glass cleaner onto a cloth.Do not spray the cleaner on the screen.Behind the frame that holds it in place, the liquid can run down the screen.Damage to electronic components can cause the frame to swell and warp.
There are wires and cables in the rear of the TV.The back of the TV has a fiberboard cover.The main electronic circuit boards are covered in a thick layer of dust when you remove the fiberboard cover.Don't clean these components until you want to work from the top down.
The main electronic circuit boards can be seen above.You should be able to see the mirror that reflects the image from the guns to the screen.Remove the horizontal fiberboard cover if it hides the mirror.
The static duster can be used to clean the mirror.Dust can be blasted with compressed air.You'll probably leave streaks on the mirror if you use glass cleaner.It's not like anyone has had their fingers on the mirror since you bought the TV.
