Bronze figurines, statues, and jewelry need to be cleaned every once in a while, especially if a statue has been outside or a piece of jewelry is regularly worn.Household ingredients are some of the best bronze cleaners.Cleaning bronze can take a long time. You can get your bronze looking clean and pristine by using boiling water, lemon juice, salt, flour, and a combination of these.
Step 1: In a bowl, mix 23 cup of white vinegar and two cups of flour.
A big bowl is enough to allow you to mix the two ingredients together.Once they are mixed together, blend them.
Step 2: Stir with 12 cup of salt.
The mixture should now be a paste.
Step 3: Put the paste on the bronze.
You can put a glove on your hand, dip it into the paste, and then spread it on the bronze piece. You can use a sponge. If your item is small, put it in the bowl.Your item should be completely covered in the paste.Leave the paste on for 1-2 hours.
Step 4: Warm water is what you should use to rinse your bronze.
Bring your item to the sink and rinse it under warm water after 1-2 hours. If your item is large and can't be moved, bring a pot or bucket of warm water to it and pour the water over it to rinse the paste off completely.
Step 5: To dry the bronze, use a soft cloth.
While you are drying the bronze, rub it with a cloth to remove marks.Make sure it's completely dry and that the paste is gone.
Step 6: Rub the oil on the bronze.
Add a few drops of olive oil to a soft clean cloth and rub it over the bronze.Since ancient times, olive oil has been used to clean and protect bronze.
Step 7: Put your item in the boiling water on the stove.
If you have a bronze item, choose a pot that is big enough to hold it.Bring the water to a boil, then place your bronze inside the pot. When it is hot, leave it in the pot.If your item is too large to fit in a pot of boiling water, use a different method to clean it.
Step 8: Carefully remove the item from the pot.
To get the item from the hot water, use tongs or a strainer.Put the strainer in the sink and pour the water from the pot into it.If you have a delicate bronze item, be careful not to let it fall into the strainer.
Step 9: A flannel cloth should be dipped in water and soap.
The flannel cloth should be sudsy.Pick up the bronze item and rub it with the cloth.Use gentle rubbing to remove marks and stains.Natural soap can be used.Do not use alkaline soaps that do not have sodium hydroxide as an ingredient. If your bronze is lacquered, don't use detergents that have pyrophosphates, such as Tide, or solutions made of ammonia. The coating on your bronze can degrade. If the bronze is very hot, be careful not to burn yourself. The cloth can be used as a barrier.
Step 10: The bronze can be dry with leather or a shammy.
The sheep or lambskin leather is tanned using natural oils.It will not damage your bronze as you dry it, because it is absorbent and nonabrasive.
Step 11: Place your item in a container.
If you want to avoid a mess, use a sponge, your hand, or a bowl full of Ketchup to apply the sauce to the bronze. It should be covered in Ketchup for about 15 minutes. After washing it with warm water, it should be dry with a soft cloth.
Step 12: Lemon juice can be applied to your item.
You can either soak it in lemon juice or squirt it on it.Remove the item, wash it with warm water, and then dry it off with a soft cloth.
Step 13: Prepare your item by soaking it in white vinegar and water.
You can soak your item in the solution overnight by pouring equal portions of white and water into a large bowl. After the next morning, wash your item with warm water and dry it with a soft cloth. The method will be more difficult if your item is large. If you don't have a bowl large enough to fit the statue inside, try a different method of cleaning.
