The right lipstick can make you feel better about yourself.Keeping your lipstick clean to prevent the spread of germs, removing long-wearing lipstick from your lips, and getting lipstick stains out of your clothing can seem like a challenge. If you have the right products on hand, you can get the job done quickly.
Step 1: The cup should be filled with alcohol.
You can find a bottle of isopropyl alcohol at any drugstore. You can easily submerge the lipstick into the plastic cup by pouring enough into it.There are different percentages of isopropyl alcohol.70% is the best option for lipstick cleaning. It is strong enough to kill the germs that may be present on the lipstick, but won't evaporate as quickly as higher concentrations.
Step 2: You can dip your lipstick in alcohol.
You can expose the entire bullet by taking the lipstick tube and turning it all the way up.Hold the lipstick in the cup of alcohol for 15 to 30 seconds. You should not bang the lipstick against the side of the cup if you hold it in the alcohol.
Step 3: Put the lipstick back on and let it dry.
Remove the lipstick from the cup after you let it soak in the alcohol.Use a tissue to wipe off the top layer of lipstick from the bullet, and leave the lipstick uncovered so it can finish drying the rest of the way.If you want to prevent alcohol from dripping all over your table or counter, pull out the lipstick container and gently tap it against the side of the cup.
Step 4: To remove excess lipstick, Blot your lips.
If you want to remove the top layer of lipstick, you need to take a tissue and wipe it against your mouth. When you are no longer getting a lot of color off, gently press the tissue against your lips.Make sure you don't rub the tissue over your lips or you will end up with lipstick around your mouth.
Step 5: You can put a layer of petroleum jelly on your lips.
If you have removed the top layer lipstick with the tissue, spread a thick layer of petroleum jelly on your lips.Allow it to sit on your lips for a short period of time. You can use coconut oil or baby oil if you don't have any petroleum jelly. If you don't apply a thin coat to your lips, you could end up with lipstick-colored oil on your chin.
Step 6: You can wipe your lips with a cotton pad.
Put a cotton pad on top of the warm water from the sink and let it sit on your lips for a few minutes.Remove the remaining lipstick with firm pressure by wiping the pad over your lips.Don't wipe your lips with cotton balls. They can stick to your lips if they are too fuzzy. You can end up putting lipstick on your face if you rub the cotton pad over your mouth.Wrap the pad around your finger to keep it out of the lip area.
Step 7: It's normal to wash your face.
If you only want to clean your lips so you can put on a new lipstick, you are ready to go.After removing lipstick at the end of the night, you should wash your face with your favorite cleanser. It will remove lipstick or smudges from your mouth.
Step 8: Use a damp cloth to remove the lipstick stain.
If you see a lipstick stain on your clothing, don't rub it with a napkin or paper towel. If you want to remove the top layer of pigment, blot the spot with water. You can use seltzer to remove the lipstick stain if you ask for it.If you don't have access to water, use cold water.Don't use warm or hot water to clean a lipstick stain. The stain will be set by that.
Step 9: Pre-wash a stain.
Apply a pre-wash stain remover to the spot when you are ready to clean your clothing.According to the product's label, allow the stain removal to sit on the stains for 1 to 3 minutes. The spotter can be used instead of the pre-wash stain remover. They are available in home dry cleaning kits. Before washing your clothing, make sure that the spotter is completely dry.
Step 10: The clothing should be washed according to the instructions.
After you remove the stain from the lipstick, wash the clothing in a washing machine.Make sure to follow the recommendations on the clothing label as to what temperature and cycle you should use.
Step 11: The stain treatment should be applied again.
Take the clothing out of the machine and check the stain. The item can be dried according to the instructions on the label. If there is a stain, apply more of the stain removal and wash the item.If you have tried using the pre-wash stain treatment to remove the stain, you may want to try the dry cleaning spotter. It may be more effective on a stubborn lipstick stain because it is more concentrated.
