The project is written by volunteers. Many people don't contribute to the encyclopedia. This how-to will show you how to make a difference.
Step 1: It's possible to create a Wikipedia account.
If you register for an account, you will be given more privileges than a non- registered user.Your account must be at least four days old and have ten edits to be eligible for all of these privileges.
Step 2: Get familiar with the core policies.
There are a lot of guidelines and policy pages in Wikipedia. The most important are neutral point of view, no original research, and Verifiability.
Step 3: Stubs can be expanded.
The article may be marked with a Stub tag if it is not complete or written in full detail.Content can be added to the articles currently marked as stubs. There is a more detailed stub meaning that the stub has been sub-sorted.Arts, Cultures, Design, Broadcast Media, Radio, Television, Literature, and more are included in the sub-sorted stubs.
Step 4: Add a picture.
An encyclopedia is incomplete without pictures. You can upload as many pictures as you want, but you have to give detailed information on the source and the license of the file.If you can't give that information, do not have any photos uploaded. If you keep uploading photos, they will be deleted.
Step 5: Write a new article.
There are over six million articles in the English version of Wikipedia. You can help by writing an article of your own.If you want to write a complete and informative article, you should write about something you are very knowledgeable about. There were articles created as test pages. The debate will be deleted on the spot.
Step 6: It's time to remove junk mail.
There is a lot of damage done to the site because it is accessed by millions of people every day.People who vandalize a page may add inappropriate links, blank the page, add nonsense, etc.You can help by removing or reverting the damage.Wikipedia will be a better place to find information and resources if vandals are removed.
Step 7: Help out.
It is a community even though it is an encyclopedia. You can help newcomers make the encyclopedia a better place.
Step 8: Do some maintenance.
Maintenance tasks like removing copyright violations, fixing up articles, and participating in deletion processes can be done by you.
Step 9: It's a good idea to stop vandalizing.
If you like using tools, use them. You will get a tool called 'rollback' if you get good at it.It is also a form of vandalism. If someone is persistently vandalising a page, they should be reported to the AIV board.
