Broccoli is a great addition to almost any meal. You won't be disappointed if you serve it with butter and salt or with your favorite veggies.Adding the finishing touch to your meal can be done in a variety of ways, such as steaming, roasting, and grilling.
Step 1: The pieces are 8 inch (0.32 cm).
Remove the broccoli stalks from the florets.Cut the stalks in half and slice them into smaller pieces. After slicing them horizontally, take each half and slice it vertically into pieces that are 8 inch (0.32 cm) thick and place them at the bottom of a 2.5 US quarts (12 c) saucepan.
Step 2: Bring the broccoli, water, and salt to a boil in a saucepan.
There is a pinch of salt in the 3 cup of water.Set the burner to high heat and put the broccoli on top of the water.
Step 3: Allow your broccoli to cook for 3 minutes by placing the lid on the pan.
While stirring your broccoli, allow your water to maintain a light simmer. You don't need a steamer basket to use this method.
Step 4: Put the pan in the oven and cook it for an additional 3 minutes.
When the 3 minutes are up, remove the broccoli from the heat. While it's hot, drain any excess water. If you want to add more flavor to your broccoli, add in 2 ounces of unsalted butter. It is possible to add your favorite dressing or sauce on top.
Step 5: Use a cast iron skillet to cook olive oil.
Allow your oil to heat for a short time by setting your stove to medium-low heat.If you don't have a cast iron skillet, you can use a heavy- bottom pan.The thicker base of heavy- bottom pans and skillets will allow heat to be distributed evenly from the stovetop burner to your broccoli.
Step 6: Cut the broccoli into small pieces.
Attach the flat side of broccoli to your cutting board by cutting it in half. The stems should be cut long-ways to keep them in place.Keep your broccoli pieces long and thin by slicing them from the base of the stem. You can cut down on food waste by using an entire head of broccoli.
Step 7: Put your broccoli slices in the pan of oil and sprinkle them with salt.
As you are placing your broccoli in the pan, make sure that as many pieces as possible are touching the bottom of your pan.Sprinkle salt and pepper over your broccoli after it has been arranged.
Step 8: The broccoli should be blanched for 5 minutes.
During this time, do not disturb your broccoli, as you want one side to cook thoroughly before you switch to the other. The side that was facing down should be facing up after the 5 minutes are up.Salt and pepper will be added over the top of the broccoli. If you want to get better results, keep as many broccoli pieces as you can.
Step 9: Allow your broccoli to cook for another 3 minutes while you cover your pan.
Before serving, allow the slices to cook thoroughly. When there is a brown texture to the broccoli, it's done. While it is still hot, serve your broccoli immediately after it's cooked.
Step 10: Cut the broccoli into pieces.
Cut the top of your broccoli into pieces that are 1 inch in diameter after you've washed it.The stems of your broccoli should be cut into pieces that are 4 inch thick. You don't need to wash your broccoli before use.
Step 11: Put a small amount of olive oil in the pan.
Begin heating your oil by placing your pan over medium heat.To keep the oil from burning or becoming too hot, lower the heat as it starts to heat up.
Step 12: Add in a clove of garlic.
If you want the garlic to be golden in color, cook it for 1 minute.Remove the garlic from the pan with a spoon and place it in a separate bowl.It is possible to substitute olive oil with other vegetable oils or nut oils.
Step 13: Add in your broccoli when the stove's heat is increased to medium-high.
Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the broccoli and sprinkle it on top.If you want to add more flavor, you can add 4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.
Step 14: For 3 minutes, add water and steam broccoli.
Water should be added to your pan of broccoli.Allow your broccoli to steam for 3 minutes once the water is added. When broccoli is steaming, it will turn into a green color.Your broccoli is too close to an olive green. When steaming broccoli, do not exceed 5 minutes.
Step 15: The broccoli should be cooked uncovered for 1-2 minutes.
Place your broccoli in a pan and stir it occasionally. The water in the pan will evaporate and the broccoli will be tender. It's possible to determine if your broccoli is done steaming with color alone. If you slide a fork into the broccoli, you can see if it's ready. The fork will slide in and out of the stem when it's done.
Step 16: The garlic should be on top of the broccoli.
You should serve your broccoli immediately.
Step 17: Add the broccoli to the pan with garlic and butter.
Remove the broccoli stems. You may want to trim the larger florets after removing the stems.Place 2 cloves of garlic in your skillet.Add butter and broccoli to the skillet.
Step 18: Place your pan on the rack when you turn your grill on medium heat.
Most of the butter in your pan will melt if you close the grill cover.
Step 19: The broccoli should be cooked for 5 minutes on the grill.
The broccoli should be in the pan with the melted broccoli. After the 5 minutes is up, season your broccoli by adding a small amount of salt and pepper. The size and strength of your grill can affect grill heat.Turn down your heat if you notice broccoli getting too dark.
Step 20: Allow your broccoli to cook for more time.
Wait until all of the butter in the pan has been absorbed.Depending on the grill you use, it may take less than 5 minutes to get your broccoli charred. When your broccoli is done cooking, you will know.Remove broccoli from the heat if it has too many charred spots before the 5 minutes are up.Pan-grilled broccoli is a great side dish.
