How To Create a Shortcut to a Website on Your Desktop with Internet Explorer

You can learn how to create a shortcut from your Windows desktop that will open a website in Internet Explorer.

Step 1: Go to internet explorer.

The app is shaped like a blue and has a yellow ring around it.

Step 2: Go to the website.

The search bar at the top of the window is where you can type its URL.

Step 3: Click in the empty space on the page.

There should be no text or images in this pop-up menu.

Step 4: Click on the option to create a shortcut.

It's in the middle of the menu.

Step 5: Click on yes.

A shortcut to the website will be created on your desktop.

Step 6: The "tiling" icon is on the screen.

There are two squares in the corner of the Explorer window.If you want an area of your Windows desktop to be visible, minimize the window.

Step 7: You can hold the icon to the left of the URL.

It is on the left side of the search bar.

Step 8: The icon should be on your desktop.

Step 9: Release the click.

On your desktop, there will be a shortcut to the website you were on.

Step 10: The URL can be found in the Internet Explorer search bar.

Click anywhere in the search bar, press A to highlight the URL, and C to copy it.

Step 11: Click on your computer's icon.

Step 12: Click on it.

It is in the middle of the menu.

Step 13: Click on it.

It is at the top of the menu.

Step 14: Click here to type a location of the item.

There is a field.

Step 15: Press V if you want to.

The website's URL will be pasted into the field.

Step 16: Click on that.

The dialog box is in the lower right corner.

Step 17: The shortcut should be named.

The field labeled "Type a name for this shortcut:" should be used.The shortcut will be labeled "New Internet Shortcut" if you don't do anything.

Step 18: Click on it to finish.

The website's address will appear on your desktop as a shortcut.
