How To Create and Apply a Custom Mouse Cursor Using a Photo in Windows

It's not so cool that the default mouse cursor on Windows doesn't do the job.It's possible to choose something more fun and personalized by changing your cursor.You can use any photo you want, just make sure it's the right one.

Step 1: Find the photo you want to use.

The peace sign is transparent in the background because it's a.png file format.If you want to get better results later, you should use.png files.

Step 2: Take the photo editor with you.

The one used in the video is GIMP.

Step 3: Click on the file you want to open.

Step 4: The width and height should be set to 45 and 50.

Make sure that transparency is set in the additional options menu.Click OK.

Step 5: To see a bigger view, zoom in to 400%.

Step 6: Click to open as layers.

Step 7: You can find the picture in the folder where it is saved.

Click Continue.

Step 8: Go to the left side of the program and use the scale tool to size the picture.

You can begin the editing process by manually editing the image.

Step 9: You should add a pointer when you are done editing.

This might be an arrow.A triangular shape can be drawn.The point should be in the top left of the image.

Step 10: The Tools Dialogue box has the Paint tool in it.

Step 11: You can remove the background layer on the right side of the screen.

The garbage bin icon is on the lower right of the dialogue box.

Step 12: You've finished editing.

Click File> Export if you're using GIMP.Saving the image in GIMP won't work, as it will be in the.xcf format.Instead, export it.

Step 13: Go to your browser.

Step 14: Go to a website.

Step 15: On the developer tools, look for image conversion.

Click it.

Step 16: Find the.cur or Microsoft Cursor if you want to convert the image to a panel.

Step 17: The width and height should be blank because you've already changed it.

Sharpen it by going to filters.

Step 18: Click on the image you want to convert.

Your image should be uploaded.

Step 19: Wait to download.

When you see a green check mark, that means your file is ready to download.Click here to download.It will take a couple of seconds.

Step 20: If you use Chrome, you will see your file on the bottom of your browser.

Step 21: You can start by clicking on Start.

Step 22: You can use the search bar to find "Mouse pointer looks".

Step 23: To see the first one, click it.

Step 24: The current pointer of your desktop will be shown in a popup dialogue box.

To change it, go to browse and convert it.

Step 25: The Downloads folder is the default folder for downloaded files.

Go to desktop.

Step 26: Go to the system folder

Step 27: Go to the internet.

Step 28: Click the file to open it.

Step 29: Do not check the box.

Make sure the box that says "allow themes to change mouse cursors" is on the pop up box again.If you don't allow it, the default cursor will be back after you restart your computer.

Step 30: Click OK if you want to apply.

You're done changing your mouse cursor to your own.Enjoy it.
