The XMB can be used to deactivated the Sony PS3 gaming consoles.If you want to wipe your account of all your devices at once, Sony gives you options.You can choose a method to stop the PS3 from playing.
Step 1: You can turn on the PS3 that you want to stop using.
Step 2: The Xross Media Bar (XMB) has an icon for the PlayStation Network.
The menu can be accessed with the X button.
Step 3: You can choose the sign in icon.
You can log in to Sony Entertainment.You use this account to buy games.
Step 4: Press X if you want to highlight Account Management.
Step 5: Press X if you want to see the system activation.
Step 6: The PS3 System is listed in this menu.
If you have activated several PS3 systems, make sure you get the right one.Press X if you want to select it.
Step 7: Choose a game or video system.
Step 8: Press the X button if you want to de-activate the system.
Step 9: Return to either game or video to completely uninstall the system.
Press "Deactivate System" again after clicking on it.You shouldn't be able to access games or videos on the Sony Network.
Step 10: Go to your computer.
You can open a web browser.
Step 11: You can go to the URL.
The account is atonyentertainmentnetwork.com.
Step 12: You can use your Sony Network Account.
Step 13: The account tab is at the top of the page.
Step 14: From the left hand Account column, choose Media and Devices.
Step 15: hover your mouse over the box to highlight the Game option.
Step 16: Click "Deactivate All".
You should confirm that you want to remove all devices from your account.There are limitations to this function.All systems can only be disabled for 6 months at a time.To gain access to your downloaded games, you will need to reactivate a system.You can share your games with up to 5 devices that are registered to your account.You need to call Sony Entertainment Network's customer service line if you want to uninstall a PS3.
Step 17: Under Video, Music and Comics options, repeat the deactivation.
