A powerful cleaner, bleach is useful for cleaning all kinds of surfaces.Dilute it with water before you use it.Mixed bleach solutions must be used with different ratios.
Step 1: In a ratio of 1:32 mix bleach and water.
If you want to clean non-porous surfaces such as toilets and showers, sinks, and vinyl or tile floors, use a bleach to water ratio of 1:32.Add a half cup of bleach to a gallon of water. This can be put in a plastic bucket.
Step 2: You can apply the solution to the surface.
Carefully dip the mop or rag into the solution and wring it out.The surface should be wiped in sweeping motions.Make sure you cover the whole area by going in a back and forth pattern.Don't use bleach on wood, leather, canvas, or carpet. This porous surface will be stained and faded by bleach.
Step 3: Clean the surface with cold water.
If you don't dry the bleach solution on the surface, it can leave a mess.If possible, rinse the surface with a bucket of clean water and a clean mop or rag. After you wash the surface, a bleach odor may remain in the air.
Step 4: It's a good idea to wash dishes, silverware, and glasses with soap and water.
It is best to wash the items first before using bleach.Use hot water to wash dishes. All food should be removed from the items. After you wash the dishes, rinse them.
Step 5: The sink should be filled with cold water.
Take the soapy water out of the sink.If you have an empty jug, fill it a couple of times.Run the water into the sink if you know how much water your sink can hold. You will want to use two to three gallons.
Step 6: The amount of bleach per gallon is 3.8 liters.
You can use a weaker solution for items that come into contact with food.It is the best ratio to use for a gallon of water.
Step 7: The dishes should be soaked for two minutes.
The dishes should be put into the bleach and water solution. The bleach has time to kill any germs that remain on the items if they are allowed to soak for at least two minutes.
Step 8: The dishes should be put in a drying rack.
Don't put dishes, glasses, or utensils back in the drawer or cabinet when they are wet.Leave the items to sit and let the bleach and water evaporate from them. After the soak, there is no need to rinse.
Step 9: Test the colorfastness of fabrics.
14 cup (59 liters) of water is what you'll get from the mix.The solution should be applied to a hidden spot on the fabric.Wait for one minute and then use a white cloth to dry the spot.bleach should be used on the color if it doesn't bleed or fade. You can choose between a spot around the waist on pants or a hem for shirts. It is smart to check the tags.If the clothes are sensitive to bleach there will be a warning.
Step 10: The washer should be filled with water.
If you add bleach to your laundry, make sure it doesn't come into contact with the laundry. Before you put any laundry into the washer, start it.Before you add detergent and bleach, let the basin fill at least halfway.
Step 11: Put detergent in the washer.
You need to use detergent to clean your laundry because bleach doesn't wash clothes.Measure out the detergent and put it in the machine's detergent compartment. If the machine doesn't have a detergent compartment, pour it into the water.
Step 12: For a standard load, add about 12-34 cup of bleach.
For small loads, use about 12 cup of bleach. It is okay to use closer to a full cup of bleach if you have an extra large load.It can be put into a bleach compartment or into the water. You will have to adjust how much bleach you use.
Step 13: The laundry needs to be pushed into the water.
The bleach should mix up and be absorbed into the water when the washer fills with water.Put your load of laundry into the water when the machine is almost full.It should go all the way into the water.
Step 14: When working with bleach, wear rubber gloves.
The most common kind of acid is chlorine bleach. If you get bleach on yourself, it will burn your skin.Gloves that go up your forearm will protect you from splashes. It is best to wear gloves after you bleach.
Step 15: Work in aventilated room.
bleach is harmful if you breathe its fumes for a long period of time. When you can, open the windows and set up fans.If you have breathing problems, wear a mask or avoid bleach altogether.
Step 16: The bleach should be poured over the sink or tub.
There are many different materials that will be ruined by undiluted bleach. It shouldn't be poured over a wood floor or carpet. The best place to bleach is a sink or wash tub.
Step 17: Cold water can be used.
The fumes that are released from the bleach will increase if you mix it with hot water. This makes the breathing situation worse. The active ingredient in bleach is rendered useless by hot water.
Step 18: Don't use undiluted bleach.
It is not meant to be used in a undiluted form.If you don't have bleach with water, you'll do more damage than good.Even in a weak state, bleach is still effective.
