Coconut oil can make your hair shiny and soft at the same time.Studies show that it can help repair split ends and encourage new hair growth. If you already have ingredients in your cupboard, make a hair mask out of it.When you are done, wash your hair with an egg wash to get rid of the oil.
Step 1: If coconut oil is in a solid form, warm it up with 15 mL.
Coconut oil has a low melting temperature of 76 F, so it doesn't take much to melt it down.Put it in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it up for 15 seconds. It will be easier to combine the ingredients if the coconut oil is in a liquid state.
Step 2: If you want to use the whites or the yolk, separate the egg.
The whites will provide more nutrition. Both parts can be used for your mask.
Step 3: In a small bowl, add the coconut oil, honey, and egg.
You can use coconut oil, olives, honey, and a large egg.Once it has all been combined, whisk it together.Double the recipe if your hair is long or thick.
Step 4: If your hair is dry, add 1/2 of a ripeavocado to your mask.
There is a lot of healthy fats in the avocados. It will add a boost of hydration to your mask.If you want to combine it with the rest of your ingredients, simply spoon out half of anavocado into a bowl and mash it up.Adding avocados to your diet is a great way to nourish your hair.
Step 5: If your hair is on the frizzy side, you should include 1/2 of a ripe banana.
Put the banana in a bowl with a fork and mash it up.Combine it with the rest of your mask ingredients once it has been mashed. You may already have banana at home.
Step 6: For an aromatic effect, add a few drops of essential oils.
Rosemary, lavender, cedar wood, and sandalwood are all said to promote hair growth. It will take 4 to 5 drops of essential oil to make your mask smell good. Some of the essential oils could make you sick.Don't use more than the recommended amount of essential oils.
Step 7: If you have thick or tangled hair, damp it first.
It can be difficult to saturate thick, tangled, or curly hair with the mask. You can mist your hair with a spray bottle, run water from the faucet, or shower over it.You can brush through it or let the mask do the detangling for you.If your hair is straight and easy to comb through, you don't need to get wet first.
Step 8: You need to section your hair.
Take 1/3 of your hair and put a hair clip on it.The middle section of hair needs to be secured with a hair clip. The first layer you apply the mask to is the bottom 1/3 of your hair.If you have thick hair, you may want to separate it into 4 or 5 layers.
Step 9: Use your fingers to apply the mask.
You can scoop out a small amount by dipping your fingers into the mask.Start at your roots and work your way down through the middle shafts to the ends of your hair. You can massage the oil into your head. The middle section of hair should be done first, followed by the bottom section. If this gets messy, put a towel around your shoulders or wear an old shirt. You could use a comb to help distribute the mask.
Step 10: You can keep the mask from dripping by putting a shower cap or towel on your hair.
This will help keep the mask off of your shoulders and hair.First, clip your hair on top of your head, then wrap the towel around it or put it on the shower cap, if it helps.
Step 11: The mask should saturate your hair for 15 to 20 minutes.
Set a timer and relax. If you want to take care of yourself, you can clean up the ingredients from the mask or apply a face mask.If you leave the mask on for more than an hour, the egg will start to dry out, which will make it harder to rinse away.
Step 12: A mask can be made out of a raw egg and water.
It is difficult to wash out coconut oil because it is thick and slick. In a small bowl, whisk together a raw egg and some warm water. When the egg and water are completely incorporated, whisk the mixture.
Step 13: To get rid of the oil, apply the mask to your hair.
Wrap your hair around the towel or shower cap.If you want to do it messy, try standing in the shower or over a sink.Slowly pour the removal mask over your hair and use your hands to work it through.Egg cuts through grease and oil to remove the build up from good moisturizing agents.
Step 14: Set a timer for 5 to 10 minutes and wrap your hair back up.
Wrap your hair in a towel or put your shower cap back on.If there is egg wash on your neck, you should wipe it away with a damp cloth. It will be easier to wash off if the mask saturates the oil.If you leave the egg wash in your hair for more than 15 minutes, it will start to dry out.
Step 15: Remove the mask from the water.
If you want to, you can wash your hair after using a coconut oil hair mask. The coconut oil mask and removal mask can be washed away with water.Take your time with this part of the process. It can take up to 10 minutes to rinse everything off.Sections of oil should not be left behind if you give extra attention to your hair.
Step 16: It's a good idea to let your hair air dry.
To remove excess water from your hair, Pat it with an old cotton T-shirt or microfiber towel.Instead of rubbing a towel back and forth, squeeze out your hair in sections. Before you style it, let it dry naturally. If you have to blow dry your hair, use the lowest heat setting.
Step 17: You can use a hair mask once a week.
This process can be repeated many times to promote your hair's health. Most of the ingredients are already in your home, and you can experiment with adding in different ingredients to see what you like best. You could use this mask every time you wash your hair if you spend a lot of time in the sun.If you have thin or oily hair, you won't need to use this mask as often. It will probably be enough twice or once a month. You should decrease how often you apply the mask if your hair feels greasy.
