How To Do a Quiff for Women

A quiff is a trendy hairstyle that focuses on sweeping your hair back. You can do a traditional quiff if you have short hair.If you have long hair, you need to use a different method because the weight of your hair will affect the quiff. You can combine the quiff with a chic ponytail if you get the hang of it.

Step 1: Take your hair out of your head.

The section should start at your forehead and go back towards your crown. It needs to be the same width as your eyebrows at the front and end in a U-shaped curve in the back. The handle of a rat-tail comb can be used to create neat and even parts. This method works best with long hair. You can also do this method with an undercut or side fade.

Step 2: Tie or clip off the top section.

You can secure it with a hair clip or twist it into a bun.Don't worry, you will be back in this section soon.Take all the long hair at the top of your hair if you have an undercut or fade.

Step 3: Remove the hair from the sides of your head.

The hair should be in front of your ears.Attach the hair behind your ears with clips. The hair should run against the side of your head. You can skip this step if your hair is short on the sides.

Step 4: You can mist the top part of your hair with a texturizing spray.

You must mist the top, sides, and underside to focus on the roots. It's a good idea to apply a heat-protection spray at this point.

Step 5: You can dry your hair at the roots.

Attach a flat or concentrator nozzle to your hairdryer. The nozzle should be pointed towards your forehead.Lift the hair at the roots and blow dry it.You should be able to see the form of your quiff.

Step 6: The hair should be straightened.

Use the handle of a rat-tail comb to get a small section of hair from the front of your head.Straighten the section by holding it above your head. The section should be against the quiff. You may be able to use a curling iron with a wide barrel if you don't have a hair straightener.Only gather a thin section from the side parts if you repeat this step for the sides.

Step 7: Dry or texturizing powder can be applied to the quiff.

The powder should be put on the top, front, and sides of the quiff.Lift parts of the quiff and shake the powder inside.Use your fingers to work the powder into the quiff. You can use a texturizing mousse instead. If you have thick, coarse hair, you don't need to do this step.

Step 8: Set the quiff with spray paint.

The quiff needs to be misted first.Push down on the hair at the back of your crown as you slide your hand forward.Administer a spray to the hair.If you have trouble shaping the quiff, apply pomade to your hair before you try again.

Step 9: Remove the clips by spraying the sides of your hair.

Wait for the spray to set before you remove the clips. You can mist your hair if it doesn't hold. You can skip this step if you have an undercut or fade.Your hair needs to be short on the sides.

Step 10: Light mist of finishing spray is all you need to finish the look off.

Mist your hair one last time. You're ready to rock!

Step 11: You should brush your hair.

It's possible to do this with a comb, a brush, or even your fingers. The goal is to remove your hair from your head. The method works best on hair that's at least shoulder-length.You can do this if you can pull your hair back into a ponytail.

Step 12: Take your hair out of your head.

The section should cover the entire width of your forehead. It should be at the top center of your head.Don't have the section end in a V-shaped point.Don't gather all of the hair at the top of your head just yet, you'll be adding more hair to this section later. The handle of the rat-tail comb can be used to create neat, even parts.

Step 13: You should spray the section you gathered first.

To do this, use a downward C-motion and short strokes. You can use a regular comb instead of using a special backcombing brush.Between the backcombing, spray the section with texturizing spray. If you have curly hair, you can use hot rollers.Leave your hair out for 15 minutes by rolling it backwards and away from your face.

Step 14: You can add the rest of your hair to the section.

The back of your crown is where your skull begins to curve downward. The section should end in a soft curve. You can use hot rollers if you used them in the previous step.

Step 15: One more time, spray and back comb your hair.

You just added hair to the section, mist it.The method is the same as before. It's best to spray it a second time.

Step 16: Add in extra strands of hair to blend the quiff in.

You may have a part between the quiff and the rest of your hair by this point. This may be too stark for your hair length.Conceal it by taking thin strands of hair from below the quiff and adding them to it.

Step 17: Rub the quiff back.

Put your brush over the top and sides of the quiff. If you press too hard you will lose the effect. If you press lightly, you can use your backcombing brush for this.

Step 18: Pin the hair back from your temples.

You can take the hair from the side of your head.To pin it in place, pull it back behind your head. For the other side of your head, repeat this step.Make sure the pins match your hair color. You can hide the pins under other hair. The hair will be pinned over the quiff.Don't pull the quiff down.

Step 19: Make sure to make any final touches.

At this point, you can come up with something. If you want a bohemian touch to your hair, you can either loose it or straight it.It is possible to leave your hair as-is.It's a good idea to mist your hair before you head out.

Step 20: Make sure that your hair is tangle free by combing it out.

This style works best with long hair, but you can try it with shoulder length as well. This method is possible if you can pull your hair up into a ponytail.Straighten your hair first to get a more traditional look.

Step 21: There is a section off the top of your hair.

To get the top part of your hair, use a rat-tail comb. The section should span from one eyebrow to the other. The section should be end in a soft curve.Pull the rest of your hair out.It can be secured with a clip or hair tie.

Step 22: The section you gathered should be crimped.

It is possible to get a quiff without crimping, but this will really increase the volume. If you want to crimp the front of your hair, split it in half horizontally. The bumpy texture won't be seen in the end. Before crimping your hair, apply a heat protectant spray to it.After crimping your hair, brush it out.It will be softer and fluffier.

Step 23: The backcombing brush can be used to back comb your hair.

Go back to the beginning of your section. If you need more volume, you can divide the section into thinner sections. To hold the added volume, spray the sections with texturizing hairspray.

Step 24: Attach the section to your crown.

Pull the hair against the top of your head and push it forward. You can put the pins through the left and right sides.Between your front and back ears is where the bump should be.Use pins that match your hair color.

Step 25: Pull the rest of your hair out.

If you want the quiff to stay in place, be careful not to pull on the top part of your hair too much.Try to use a hair tie that matches your hair color to secure the ponytail.

Step 26: The style should be set with a light mist of hairspray.

To hide the hair tie, take a thin strand of hair from the underside of the ponytail and wrap it around the base. The strand needs to be secured with a pin.
