Sandy in Grease has some of the most recognizable movie hairdos. You can get her stick straight hair from her sleepover with the Pink Ladies, as well as copy her high ponytail when she first arrives at Rydell High.Everyone has a favorite Sandy hair-do.Sandy-worthy hair will be given you in no time if you protect your hair with thermal spray and style it carefully.
Step 1: Administer a spray to the roots of your hair.
If you have recently washed your hair, the hairspray will keep it from slipping out of the elastic. If you want to apply a spray at the roots, lift your hair in large sections.
Step 2: Put your hair in three or four sections.
Since this will make your ponytail look very curly, you don't want too many sections. For Sandy's look, you only need three to four big, loose curls, so section your hair into four equal sections, one on each side and the other in the back. You should spray your hair with a heat protectant after you section it.
Step 3: Curls can be made with rollers.
The roller is about midway between the tips of your hair and your roots. When you reach the end of your hair, Curl it around the roller.Roll the roller one rotation up into the hair below it once it has been fully rolled.Place it with a roller clip. For each section of hair, repeat this process.
Step 4: Curls can be heated with a straightener.
Attach the straightener to the roller with a 1 to 2 inch wide one.Leave it there for a short time, just long enough for the hair to heat up and the curl to set.
Step 5: The rollers need to be removed to brush the hair.
Pull the rollers out of your hair by pulling them straight out.Curls won't hold if you relax your hair.To brush through the curls, use a flat paddle brush.
Step 6: The hair should be sprayed with a bit of spray.
If you pull your hair into a ponytail, this will make sure that it keeps its shape. You can spray down the length of the bottle or can if you hold it close to your hair.
Step 7: You should section your hair at the temples.
The top of your hair is where your ponytail will be.Draw a horizontal line from your temple to the crown of your head using a comb.Hold this section of hair away from the hair underneath and then use a comb to draw a horizontal line back to the opposite temple. With a clip, secure the two sections together.
Step 8: The hair needs to be brushed into a ponytail.
It is best to use a wide toothed comb here.Make sure the sides of the ponytail are tight and sleek by brushing the hair up.Attach the ponytail to your head with an elastic.
Step 9: The hair needs to be brushed back.
Remove the sectioned hair from the clip and join it with the existing ponytail.Wrap everything together with another elastic.
Step 10: You should back brush your hair.
Begin by brushing the hair up in the middle of your ponytail. This will give you more volume to your hair.If you notice any flyaways on the side of your head, smooth them down and give them a spray of spray.
Step 11: You should wash your hair.
It is a good idea to use a conditioner with some heat protection.Your hair won't get damaged from the blow dryer. After you've washed your hair, squeeze it.You don't want it to be wet, but it should be damp.
Step 12: You can apply the oil to your hair.
If you have hair that is to your shoulders, you only need a small amount. If you have hair past your shoulders, use more.Rub the oil on your hands and run it through your hair.
Step 13: You can use a heat protectant to spray your hair.
Even if you use a conditioner that protects your hair from heat, a spray heat protector will help keep it healthy and shiny.Put the protectant on your hair and then use your hands to distribute it.
Step 14: Attach the attachment to the dryer.
The attachment will force the air out of your dryer in an almost horizontal line. This will make your hair shiny and smooth.
Step 15: To dry your hair, blow it out.
Since you will be applying more heat later, you don't want your hair to be completely dry when you finish this step. It's a good idea to dry it just enough to get rid of the dampness.
Step 16: To dry hair, use a flat paddle brush.
You can brush out hair with a paddle brush.Follow along with your blow dryer as you run the brush from root to tip.The brush should be touching your hair.
Step 17: Straighten your hair with a straightener.
When your hair is almost completely dry, it should look straight. If you want to get the super straight look Sandy has in Grease, you need to go back over your hair with a straightener.Using a 1 inch wide straightener, section your hair into small sections and run it over each section slowly, moving from root to tip.If your hair is completely dry, you shouldn't use a straightener on it since it can damage it.
Step 18: Your hair is Curled.
Curl your bangs once your hair is done.A round brush with a small barrel can be used.Place the brush under your hair.Roll your blow dryer forward to the tips.Use the hair dryer to follow the brush.Rewet your bangs with a spray bottle of water or a wet comb if they have dried out by the time you get to them.
Step 19: You need to brush your hair.
You can brush your hair out with a paddle brush. You should look like Sandy in no time.
Step 20: If your hair is clean, spray it with a spray.
This helps hold the curl. You will end up with straight hair if you don't use spray.
Step 21: You should section your hair into at least 6 sections.
Start the sections near your neck.If you want to make a horizontal part near the base of your neck, use a comb to create it.The loose hair is where your curls will start. If you have more sections in your hair, it will look better.
Step 22: The section should be sprayed with thermal spray.
If you want to protect your hair from the heat of the curling iron, spray each section with a heat protectant or thermal spray. You should spray as you go.The purpose of using a spray protectant is defeated if you spray your whole head before curling your hair.
Step 23: Curl the hair using a curling wand.
The best size curls for this style will be given by an 18mm barrel curling wand or iron.Curl your hair around the iron or wand at the root of your neck.Depending on what feels most comfortable, you can roll your hair over or under the iron.As possible, hold the iron vertically.Wait until you feel the hair heat up.It should take 2 or 3 seconds. The back of your head is where you should be working.
Step 24: Curl against your head.
The curl should be pushed toward the surface of your head. While you work on the rest of your hair, make sure to secure it with a hair clip.Continue this process until you have curled all of your hair.
Step 25: Release your hair.
After curling and setting your hair, you can take the clips out.Let them fall naturally if you unclip them.Leave your slightly bouncier Curls clipped for five minutes after curling your hair.
Step 26: The roots should be teased with a comb.
If you want to tease your hair at the roots, use a comb. You should only comb from the root of your hair.
Step 27: You can brush through your hair with your fingers.
Once your hair is teased, finger-brushing your curls helps to separate them a bit.As you finish finger-brushing them, spray your hair with hairspray.
Step 28: There is a small section on the side of your head.
You shouldn't pull the comb all the way through your hair.Start at your temple on the left or right side of your head and comb straight back.Your hair should be against your head.
Step 29: A hair comb is needed.
If you want to push a hair comb into your hair, start a few inches away from your roots.
Step 30: It's time to give a final spray of spray.
If you want to set your hair, give it a couple of squirts of hairspray.
