The Mail or Messages app can be used to download files on an Apple device.If it's in a file format, you can download it on your phone, but the file type will determine what app it is saved with.If you download a.jpg file, you will most likely find it in your camera roll.
Step 1: If you want to download the file, open Mail or Messages.
A friend sent you a video file in Messages that you can download to your phone, or you may have received a PDF attachment in Mail.
Step 2: The attachment icon is on the screen.
It will be downloaded immediately.You can find this file in the Downloads folder in your Files app.If you want to open it in another app, tap and hold the attachment until a menu pops up, then tap the square with an arrow pointing up icon and select the app you'd like to use.
Step 3: To add photos, long-tap a photo or video attachment.
If the attachment is a photo or video, you can touch and hold the file to save it to your Photos app.
Step 4: Click on the file you want to download.
You can use any mobile web browser to download files, but it's recommended.
Step 5: There is a download link or icon.
Depending on the type of file you're getting, the next step might be different.
Step 6: If prompted, tap download.
When you download a file, you may see a pop-up message asking if you want to download the file.You can save the file to your Downloads folder if you see this.
Step 7: The share icon can be used to download other types of files.
You can save or open a file in another app if you tap the sharing icon in the address bar at the top of the browser.Select, choose a location, and then tap to save the file if you have the option to do so.You can read the PDF in the Books app if you're saving it.
Step 8: Go to your downloaded file.
It is most likely to be found by using the Files app or an app that can open that file type.You can find a file if you open the mobile browser and tap the three-dot menu icon in the bottom corner.
