There are over 300 different breeds of dogs, from chihuahuas to German shepherds to Labrador retrievers.Learning how to draw dogs is a great way to practice.The process of drawing a realistic dog, like a hound or a Doberman pinscher, is fairly simple if you know where to start.
Step 1: A small circle is drawn.
The outline is for the dog's head.
Step 2: The circle has a quadrilateral extending off of it.

Step 3: There are 2 triangles on the circle.
The dog has ears.

Step 8: You can join the biggest and smallest ovals with a straight line.
The dog's back will be formed by this line.
Step 9: Straight lines can be drawn off the big oval.
The front legs will be made up of these lines.To close off the legs, connect the lines at the bottom.
Step 10: The front legs and smaller ovals were drawn.
These are the paws of the dog.
Step 11: There is an upward curving line coming off the smallest oval.
The beginning of the dog's tail is this line.
Step 12: There is a small horizontal oval at the top of the front leg.
The dog has a leg bone and muscle area.
Step 13: Use the shapes you have drawn so far to create a rough outline of the dog.
The dog has eyes, nose, mouth, nails, and ears.
Step 14: The guidelines you drew should be erased.
The detailed outline of the dog you drew should be left when you erase the guidelines.
Step 15: You can finish your drawing by coloring in the dog.
If you want a realistic-looking dog, stick with shades of brown.
Step 16: There are two horizontal ovals drawn side by side.
Make one larger than the other.Make sure they are not too far apart.
Step 17: The dog is around the 2 ovals.
You have to draw a line that goes down and over the ovals.Draw a line under it that does the same thing.It should bend in between the ovals for the bottom line.Draw the beginnings of legs.Finally, draw a circle with an ellipse around the head.
Step 18: Additional details can be added to the outline.
You can draw the ears, snout, paws, and tail.
Step 19: Add more detail by removing the guidelines from your drawing.
You can draw the outlines of the fur after you have erased the guidelines.You can smudge your pencil lead to create shadows on the dog.
Step 20: You can color in your drawing.
To color a Doberman pinscher, you will want to use black and brown.
Step 21: Draw a circle.
This is the outline of the puppy's head.
Step 22: Draw a horizontal ellipse under the circle.

Step 23: There are four small ovals inside the circle.
The puppy's eyes will be the ovals.Two small ovals are drawn inside the circle.Draw a small oval inside each one.

2 upward curving lines that meet to form a "w" shape should be drawn first.Draw a third upward curving line underneath them.

Left the tops disconnected, you can connect the ends of the lines.
Step 34: There is an oval at the bottom of the leg.
The outline is for the paw on the leg.
Step 35: 2 more lines are drawn down from the upper body to the other leg.
You should connect the lines at the bottom like you did for the other leg.
Step 36: There is a small Oval at the bottom of the second leg.
This is the puppy's other paw.
Step 37: A curving line comes off the lower back.
The puppy has a tail.
Step 38: Use the guidelines you have drawn so far to make a detailed outline of the puppy.
The eyes, tongue, and nails are some of the details you should include.
Step 39: All of the guidelines should be erased.
You should leave a detailed outline of the puppy when you finish.
Step 40: You should color in your drawing.
You can use any colors you want in the puppy.Brown, black, gray, and tan are some good options.
Step 41: There are 2 circles and a horizontal oval.
If you want the smaller circle to be above the bigger circle, make it bigger than the other.The framework for your drawing will be made up of these shapes.
Step 42: The dog's legs are coming off of the bigger circle.
Divide the legs into different shapes.There are 2 legs coming off of the bigger circle.
Step 43: You can draw the outline of the dog's body.
Use curved lines to connect the circles.There is a small tail coming off the side of the bigger circle.
Step 44: The dog's head should be added to the small circle.
You can make distinct eyes, ears, snout, and mouth by refining the drawing.
Step 45: You can erase the guidelines by tracing your drawing with a pen.
The outline of the dog should be left with you.
Step 46: You can color your drawing.
