Automatic logon can be enabled by disabling your password under your personal user account or by editing the registry directly.Automatic logon will take you straight to your desktop if you enable it.
Step 1: You can open the Start menu.
The lower left corner of the screen is where it is located.
Step 2: Select "Control Panel", then open it.
You can change your system settings with the Control Panel program.
Step 3: Go to the "User Accounts" folder.
You can change your account settings from here.
Step 4: Click on the option that says "pick an account to change."
When it comes up, choose your account name.The name of the account you are trying to change will be reflected in your "default account name".When on a shared computer, you shouldn't edit other accounts.
Step 5: Click on the link to remove the password.
The computer will prompt you to enter your password.Click "Remove Password" when prompted to complete the process.
Step 6: Click on "choose the way users log on or off" if you want to go back to "User Accounts".
Click on the check box next to "Use the Welcome Screen" to remove it.
Step 7: Reboot your computer.
Click on "Power", and then select "Restart".Your computer will stop and restart.This time it should logon automatically.
Step 8: The Run program should be opened.
"Run" can be found on the right-hand side of the Start menu.The Run program can be brought up without touching the Start menu if you hold down the Win key and tap R.
Step 9: Run to open the editor.
In this case, the logon values are edited in the registry editor.Click OK to bring up the registry editor if you type in "regedit" without the quotations.If the first version doesn't work, type in "regedt32.dll" without quotation marks.
Step 10: Go to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder.
Double-click if you want to go to this folder.This will allow you to see the contents of the folder.The "SOFTWARE" folder can be found after you scroll through this folder.
Step 11: The "SOFTWARE" folder should be expanded.
The "Microsoft" folder can be found when you scroll through "SOFTWARE".
Step 12: The "Microsoft" folder should be expanded.
You can find the "Windows NT" folder by scrolling through "Microsoft".
Step 13: Go to the "Windows NT" folder.
You can find the "Current Version" folder by scrolling through "Windows NT".
Step 14: The "Current Version" folder should be expanded.
You can find the "Winlogon" folder by scrolling through the current version.
Step 15: You can double-click the "Winlogon" folder.
There are three values within this folder.
Step 16: Click on "Default User Name".
Make sure that the value in the properties box matches your name.
Step 17: Click on "DefaultPasswordType"
As usual, log in with your password when it opens.
Step 18: You can double-click on it.
When it opens, type 1 into the value box.
Step 19: It's time to restart your computer.
You can close your programs and restart them by going to the Start menu, selecting "Power", and then clicking "Restart".It's a good idea to boot up your computer at the desktop.
