If you want your computer to use the whole hard drive at once, you need to remove a partition from it.If you went through the steps to create a partition then you can do this.You might want to back up the files on the partition.
Step 1: The start is open.
The Windows logo can be found in the bottom- left corner of the screen.The Win key can be pressed on the keyboard.
Step 2: You can type computer management into Start.
This will help you find the Computer Management program.
Step 3: Click "Computer Management".
The start window has it at the top.Computer Management opens when you click this.If you're not using an administrator account, you won't be able to access this program.
Step 4: You can click on the Disk Management tab.
There is a sidebar on the left side of the Computer Management window.Double-click the tab if you don't see this option.
Step 5: You can choose your hard drive.
The hard drive's box can be found in the window near the bottom of Computer Management.The box should have the hard drive's letter "(C:)" and the number of gigabytes of storage currently available.You should see the partition on the hard drive box.
Step 6: Click action.
The Computer Management window has a menu item in it.There is a drop-down menu.
Step 7: Pick all the tasks.
It is near the bottom of the menu.Clicking on it will lead to a pop-out menu.
Step 8: Click to extend volume.
The pop-out menu has this option near it.There will be a new window.
Step 9: You can click next.
The new window has it at the bottom.
Step 10: Click Next if you want to remove an amount.
A number of megabytes is what you want to remove from the partition.If the partition is 1000 MB, you would want to remove half of it.Click if you want to remove the entire partition.
Step 11: Click to finish.
This will allow you to include the amount of partition that you removed on your hard drive.
Step 12: Go.
The tab should be in the menu bar at the top of the screen.Click the desktop or open a new Finder window if you don't see it.
Step 13: Click on the utilities.
It is at the bottom of the menu.
Step 14: Click the Disk Utility.
This icon is similar to a Mac hard drive.The Disk Utility program can be opened by doing that.
Step 15: Pick your hard drive.
Below the "Internal" heading, you can click your Mac's hard drive in the upper- left side of the Disk Utility window.
Step 16: Click the partition.
The Utility Disk window has a tab at the top.
Step 17: Click it.
It's below the pie chart.It will allow you to make changes to the system drive if you do that.
Step 18: There is a system drive partition.
Click on the piece of the pie chart that represents your Mac.It will be on the right side.
Step 19: There is a new size entered.
Click the "Size" field, then type in a new size for your Mac's system drive.If you type 400 into the "Size" field, it will set your Mac's drive size at 400 gigabytes, leaving 100 gigabytes for the resizing partition.
Step 20: Click to apply.
There is an option in the bottom-right corner of the window.Extending the Mac's system drive and resizing your partition will begin once you do that.
Step 21: When prompted, click Done.
This will finish the process.The Mac's main hard drive partition needs to be re-sized.
