How to fix the F-01 error on a whirlpool dryer
A simple reset of the main control may be enough to fix the Duet Dryer F01.If the error persists after you plug the dryer back in, you will need to check the thermal fuse.The blower wheel housing has a fuse on it.It's worth checking if the F01 error code is caused by the fuse or not because in some rare cases it can be and it is a $20.00 part.
If you remove the bottom access panel from the front of the dryer, you will see that the thermal fuse is mounted at the top.Check the fuse for continuity and remove the two wires.It's bad if it doesn't have continuity.
The main control board will need to be replaced if the fuse is good.There are screws on the back of the dryer lid that hold the main control in place if you want to replace it.Once you have the top off, standing at the front of the dryer on the left side, you will see the board mounted to the control bracket, and the wires will be unplugged.Take a picture of the wiring to make sure you remember where the wires connect to the board.The control board can be ordered from the links below.The electronic control board has a dryer.
