How To Get a Sick Day off from School Without Going to the Doctor
It's a school day and you feel like staying at home to get some rest.If you don't play it right, you could end up going to the doctor. If you play it right, you will leave exactly where you want to be.You won't have to worry about getting a doctor's note if you pull it off.
Step 1: Pick the ailment that's right for you.
If you don't want to go to the doctor, you have to choose a sickness that is not too severe. If you want to feign an illness that can only be cured by staying at home and avoiding hard work, you need to go to school.A stomach virus can leave you unable to go to class, but it isn't severe enough to call for medical attention.Dehydration is one of the worst symptoms of a stomach virus. It's a good excuse to stay home if you have a fever, but it usually requires a little rest and relaxation.Sweating, shivering, headaches, muscle aches, loss of appetite, dehydration, and general weakness are some of the telltale signs of a potentially infectious disease.
Step 2: Complain about the problem.
You have to start feeling bad the day before you want to stay home and let your guardian know, because people don't get sick all of a sudden.Tell your guardian that you're not feeling well."My head hurts" and "I ate something funny at lunch" are some key phrases you can use.A lot of my classmates have been sick recently, I hope I didn't catch anything.
Step 3: Don't put too much stress on your performance.
If you don't want to go to the doctor, you have to say that you're not sick enough to need medical care.Don't show all of your symptoms at once. It's best to pretend to vomit and the other two symptoms in order to get the attention of your guardian. You don't want to show the symptoms that your guardians usually treat with medication.
Step 4: It's a good idea to imagine that you might need to stay home the next day.
At this point in your performance, you are just starting to feel sick and need to be subtle or else you will be figured out.The art of your performance is revealing your ailments.Do you remember the last time you got sick?Avoid saying "I don't think I'll be able to go to school tomorrow"
Step 5: Change your afternoon routine.
If you want to show that you're not feeling your best, don't do normal activities. If you want to watch a movie or play a board game, decline. You usually enjoy doing things, but you're disinterested in them.If you're too tired to be involved in the conversation,Contribute little. If your parents want to know if you have been sick for a while, tell them you've been feeling better.
Step 6: Don't eat a lot at the dinner table.
You don't want to eat a big meal if your stomach hurts. If you have a high temperature, you could lose your appetite, which would make you not want to eat much.Don't come out of the bathroom for ten minutes because you can still function and not raise a lot of concern. When you return to the table, tell your guardian that your stomach is hurting, and that you're not sure if you can finish dinner. If possible, sneak some snacks into your bedroom to eat later so that you don't get really hungry at night.
Step 7: Exhausted.
Being sick is taxing on your body.Your body works hard to fight off stomach viruses and other illnesses so you will need to show your guardian that you are really sick.Body ache, fatigue, and muscle weakness are some of the symptoms of a fever. You can show that you are tired by moving slower than normal, laying down on the couch or resting your head at dinner.Your body temperature may go down when you're tired. If you're sitting on the couch, you should get a blanket that's heavier than normal.
Step 8: Allow a temperature increase.
If your guardian wants to touch your face or use a thermometer, you need to raise your body temperature. When your temperature rises above its normal range, you have a high temperature. If you want to show that you have the symptoms of a fever, you should show them by faking an increase in body temperature.
Step 9: Your body temperature should be raised.
To feel hot to the touch, you want your face to look red.If you want to make your body warm, put on a sweater or heavy clothing. If you don't see anyone, do jumping jacks, high- knees, or mountain-climbing for a minute. If you don't feel hot after one minute, repeat your method.Don't get too carried away with it.You do not want to push yourself too hard.Don't perform until you feel good.If you don't feel well, go to your guardian and take off your clothes. If they touch your cheek, they will feel like you're hot.
Step 10: If you can, make your face and neck red and hot.
Your guardians will be more likely to believe you are sick if you show that you're consistently warm. When no one is looking, put a cloth on your face and neck. You risk burning yourself if the water isn't too hot.Put a dry towel over the excess water. You want to appear warm and have some water left.It will look like you've been sweating.Rub your face with your hands if you don't have a cloth. This will make your face red and make you feel warm.To feel your head or cheek, ask your guardians. When you've warmed up, tell your guardians that you don't feel well and let them touch your forehead.
Step 11: Don't touch the thermometer.
If you know your guardian will want to measure your temperature, you'll have to make it hot to show it.Place your fingers on the tip of the thermometer. The quicker you move your fingers, the hotter the temperature will be.If you have a heat source nearby, you can put the thermometer next to it for a few moments. You can raise the temperature by soaking your thermometer in hot water if it has mercury inside. If the water is boiling hot, it could cause the mercury thermometer to explode. The water temperature should only be a few degrees hotter than your body temperature.
Step 12: Supplies should be gathered.
Like any actor, you will need props to show that your symptoms aren't going away. There is a cup of water by your bed.It will be used at night to convince your family that you are sweating. If you have an electric tea kettle that won't be noticed, it's even better than a cup of water. You can show that you're both hot and sweaty by doing this. You can hide by your bed next to the water. The cloth will be used to make your face red.
Step 13: You should set your alarm.
You need to wake up in the middle of the night to show your guardian that you still have symptoms. It's a good time to wake up.Don't let your parents know that the alarm is going off.If you want to hear it, put it at a low volume or vibrate and keep it near you.Rub the cloth and water on your face until it looks red.Don't dry your face completely because it will look like sweat.Go into your guardian's room and ask them to feel your head because you think you might be sick.
Step 14: Don't do too much.
Your guardians might want to take you to the doctor if you are sick.Wait a few minutes before pretending to fall asleep if your guardians come to sit with you.Ask for water if you feel thirsty. To show you're cold, pull the sheets tight.Don't complain or talk too much: let your performance speak for itself.
Step 15: Stay up late in the morning.
Your guardians will be more likely to think that you need to sleep if you stay in bed.You can avoid both school and the doctor if they think you need rest.If your guardian comes to wake you up, try to rub your face with your hands before they come into your room.Tell your guardian that you can't sleep. You are more exhausted now than you were yesterday.
Step 16: Don't give up.
Your guardians will know you don't want to go to school if you continue showing your symptoms during breakfast.Don't eat breakfast if you're not feeling well.If you feel really cold, wear a heavy sweater and ask for an extra blanket. You can show that you're tired and disinterested by laying your head on the table.
Step 17: If you follow these steps closely, ask your parents if you can stay home for the day.
