Step 1: If you already own a Starbucks card, register it online.
If you received a Starbucks card as a gift, you can use it to create a rewards account.To register, visit http://www.starbucks.com/rewards and enter your personal information, as well as the 16-digit identification number on your card.There are two ways to register a physical gift card.To register, you must have a minimum balance on your card.
Step 2: If you don't have a card, you can register with the Starbucks app.
If you don't have an eGift card, you can join the Starbucks mobile app by pressing the blue "join" button at the bottom of the screen.You can join the rewards program by entering your contact information.Press the "cards" icon at the bottom of your screen to load money onto your virtual card.Pick a pre-set amount of cash to put on your card after you enter your payment information.Press the "cards" icon at the bottom of your phone screen to use your virtual card.The button for "Pay in Store" can be found in the bottom right corner of the screen.A barcode will appear, and the cashier will use it the same way they would use a physical card.
Step 3: If you buy Starbucks products at other stores, enter a Star code.
Star codes can be found on the packaging of products like coffee beans, instant coffee, or bottled drinks, if you don't have a gift card.This code can be found at http://www.starbucks.com/rewards.To enroll in the rewards program, follow a series of questions.The field where you can enter your Star code is close to the bottom of the page, under the heading "Easy Ways to Join."
Step 4: Purchase products at Starbucks using your registered card.
Spending money on food, drinks, or other products at participating Starbucks locations is possible with the physical or virtual card that you just registered or created.You will get two virtual reward units for every U.S. dollar you spend with your card.You have to use the exact card that you registered for to earn stars.If you are using another card, you must register it to your rewards account.You can't earn Stars while using your card to purchase alcoholic beverages.Products sold in other countries will earn Stars if their value is expressed in US dollars.If you spend 1 pound at a Starbucks location in the United Kingdom, you will earn two stars, the same amount as if you had spent 1 dollar.
Step 5: Star codes can be entered from products purchased at other locations.
If you bought whole or ground beans, bottled drinks or other Starbucks products from another retailer, you can use Star codes found on or inside the packaging to earn Stars.You can redeem your Stars at http://www.starbucks.com/rewards.You cannot enter more than 2 Star codes per day.Depending on how much you paid for the product, the amount of Stars that you earn by entering Star codes will vary.The best by date is when the code expires.If you're trying to enter a code from a product that you bought a while ago, be aware of this.
Step 6: There are Starbucks products purchased at other locations.
You can earn Stars by uploading a photo of your receipt to http://www.starbucks-stars.com, instead of entering Star codes from Starbucks products you bought at other stores.You can still earn rewards after 60 days if you submit your receipt.Make sure the receipt is legible and visible in the picture you take.You may not earn any Stars if your submission isn't approved.
Step 7: You need at least 300 Stars to get a gold card.
You can accumulate at least 300 stars within a year by using any of these methods.You can receive a gold card if you reach this number.If you earn 2 stars for each US dollar you spend at Starbucks, you'll need to spend $150 a year to reach Gold status.
Step 8: The gold card can be sent to you if you enter your mailing address online.
You can log in to your Starbucks account after earning 300 stars.After updating this information, you'll receive your Gold card in the mail.If you use your regular, non-Gold registered Starbucks card, you will be able to earn all the rewards associated with Gold status, including a free drink or snack every time you earn 125 Stars.
Step 9: Money can be loaded onto your gold card.
The Gold card will not arrive in the mail with cash.If you use your app or log into your account, you can put money on your card in the same way that you would add money to a Starbucks card.You can use your Gold card to keep accumulating Stars.You can transfer the balance of your old registered card to your new gold card by logging into your Starbucks account and selecting "Manage".If you want to transfer money to your new card, you can either use your Starbucks app or ask a cashier at a Starbucks store to do it for you.
Step 10: Continue earning the same amount of Stars.
You have to earn 300 more stars every year after you earn your Gold card.Purchase drinks and snacks at Starbucks as often as possible using your Gold card, or any other registered card.You can earn stars for other Starbucks products by uploading your receipts or entering Star codes online.If you've only been earning Stars at Starbucks locations, this is a good idea to keep your Gold membership.If you want to make sure you're on track to regain your Gold status next year, you need to monitor your Star balance on your mobile app.
