How To Get Over a Player

Being manipulated by a player can affect your emotions and self-esteem.It can be difficult to navigate, but we can help!Check out our list of simple tips to help you get back on your feet.

Step 1: It's hard to get over someone if you keep talking.

It is not easy, but a complete and total break is the way to go.A player does not deserve your friendship or attention after the way they treated you.Don't follow them on social media, ignore their messages, and block their calls.Keep your interaction short and sweet if you run into them.Remember that you are dealing with a player. They might try to manipulate you again if the lines of communication are open.

Step 2: It is normal to feel sad, angry, and self-doubt after a break-up.

Give yourself time and space to process those feelings. To just experience your feelings, choose a set period of time.Make an effort to focus on the future once the set time period is over.Give yourself the power to cry, yell, or listen to sad music. You can let those emotions go if you get them out of your system.Writing in a journal can help you manage your emotions.

Step 3: Getting played isn't your fault and there's nothing to be ashamed of.

People are very good at being taken advantage of.Don't be angry at yourself for being fooled.Habitually manipulating people means there is something wrong with the player. You're not the problem.Don't let this toxic person stop you from approaching future relationships with an open heart and mind.

Step 4: You cannot move on if you keep their gifts.

You can make your living space a player-free zone. You can put anything the person left behind in a box. These items remind me of bad memories. How you handle these items is up to you.You can either trash them or leave them in a box on your ex's doorstep.

Step 5: You deserve it, so go ahead and treat yourself.

Doing things that make you happy is what self-care is all about. It is up to you if you want to take a bubble bath, get a new haircut, or eat your favorite dessert.Try to do something nice for yourself.Spending time in nature, getting a massage, taking a yoga class, or even enjoying a warm cup of tea can be healing self-care rituals.

Step 6: If you want to blow off steam, take a boxing class.

It's normal to feel angry if you've been played, but stewing in those bad vibes won't help.Anger can be turned into something positive with physical activity.Consider options such as kickboxing, MMA, or boxing.

Step 7: Try new things and get out of your comfort zone.

Dabble in a few new hobbies, join a sports team, or take an online class. You have always to try something.Keeping you focused on the present requires new activities and interests. You can learn to play an instrument, sign up for a marathon, take a painting class or sky dive.

Step 8: It is easy to get lost when you are sad.

The immune system will take a hit if you start missing sleep or meals. You might have a cold or start feeling drained. It is difficult to power through when you are down, but forcing yourself to go through the motions can help you heal faster.Try to wake up at the same time every day.Your physical and mental health can be improved by having a consistent sleep pattern.Don't run out of energy if you eat several small healthy meals throughout the day.

Step 9: It's healing to be around trustworthy and supportive people.

When you can, use phone calls, texting, and video chats to connect with friends and family. It is likely that you will need to vent or talk about your feelings at first.Being aware of when you're sad can help prevent you from falling into that trap.

Step 10: Breakups are hard and there is nothing wrong with getting help.

If you are stuck in the sadness, a therapist can help you get back on your feet by listening, providing guidance, and teaching you healthy ways to heal.
