How To Get Tickets to the Tonight Show

Jimmy Fallon is the host of the Tonight Show.Unless it is a holiday or announced otherwise, the show is only aired in New York City on weeknights.Due to popularity, tickets to the show can be hard to find.You can try to get tickets by requesting them in advance or by waiting in line.You can get tickets for the host's rehearsal monologue if the full show isn't an option.

Step 1: You can submit a ticket request.

The tickets are usually released a month ahead of time.Due to popularity, you will have to sign up.You can request tickets for your desired date at nbc.com/the-tonight-show/tickets.Up to 4 tickets can be requested at a time.You can only attend one taping a year.

Step 2: If you are contacted by The Tonight Show, you need to confirm your e-ticket.

If you make it off of the waiting list, you will be contacted 2 weeks ahead of time.If tickets become available, you can be contacted 1 or 2 days before taping.To claim your tickets, follow the instructions in the email.

Step 3: You can claim your tickets at the check-in desk.

The show starts around 5:00 pm.The 50 West 50th Street entrance is used for the taping.It is best to show up at least 2 hours early for check-in.Too many tickets can be given out.They are given out on a first come, first served basis so show up early.Your tickets are not guaranteed until you claim them.

Step 4: Prepare for at least 3 hours for the taping.

A taping lasts about an hour and 15 minutes.It's best to set aside 3 hours for the taping.Call NBC studios to cancel or change your tickets if this isn't possible.

Step 5: Stand in line.

You may be able to get in on the day of taping, even if you didn't get off the wait list.The NBC marquee is at 30 Rockefeller Center.People can get in line as early as 1:00 am when the tickets are handed out.If you want to get a good chance of getting a standby ticket, you need to be in line by 5:00 am.It's helpful to bring items to make the wait easier when you're standing in line all day.Take a blanket, an umbrella, or a portable fan for hot weather.It is a good idea to bring drinks, snacks, and entertainment.

Step 6: There are tickets at the NBC Experience store.

There are some tickets left at Rockefeller Plaza.If tickets stop being given out at Rockefeller Plaza, you can ask about them at the NBC Experience store.If there are any leftover tickets, an employee will give them to you.

Step 7: Return to Rockefeller Plaza around 3:00 pm.

NBC employees will begin giving out tickets around this time if you secured a standby ticket.You will be contacted by a ticket number printed on your ticket.You can claim your ticket for the taping if your number is announced.You can try again on another day if it is not.

Step 8: You have to sign up for the tickets.

You can buy tickets at nbc.com/the-tonight-show.Signing up for monologue rehearsal tickets is a better option than regular The Tonight Show tickets.You have to sign up for the tickets a month in advance of the taping date.You will probably be added to a waiting list.

Step 9: Wait for the ticket notification.

2 weeks before the rehearsal date, you will be notified if a ticket for the monologue rehearsal becomes available.To claim your tickets, follow the instructions in the notification email.You can claim your tickets at Rockefeller Plaza the day of the rehearsal.The rehearsal will not be the same time as the regular taping, so make sure to read your instructional email for check-in information.

Step 10: Don't forget to rehearse the monologue.

Even if they have monologue rehearsal tickets, some people will still try for a stand-in.Don't try for both tickets.You won't be called for your tickets when you attend the rehearsal.
