Step 3: If you plant your flowers early in the spring, they will bloom before winter.
Winter is when forget-me-nots are at their most active, and your flowers won't produce many blooms during that time.The longest time to grow and bloom is when the flowers are planted in the spring.You don't have to worry about waiting for the last frost since you're keeping your forget-me-nots indoors.You can plant seeds, but remember that most forget-me-nots won't bloom their first year.If you want to enjoy blooms right away, buy flowers from your local nursery that are a little more mature.
Step 4: The flowers will get 6 hours of sun a day.
If you grow these flowers in a window that gets plenty of light, they will grow well.If it is still cold outside and frosting overnight, leave a little space between the plant and the window so that the cold won't affect its growth.Hanging pots can be installed if you don't have room for a table or plant stand.It would be better if you could have your flowers indoors but not lose any floor space.
Step 5: The temperature should be between 65 and 72 F.
Like a moderate temperature, forget-me-nots.Make sure your heat is set to 65 F during the fall, winter and early spring.Try to keep the temperature under 72 F in the summer.When they are outside, forget-me-nots need partial shade because they don't do well in high heat.The environment should be easier to control indoors.
Step 6: The humidity should be kept below 70%.
forget-me-not's greatest enemies are high heat and humidity.If the indoor humidity creeps past 70%, use a dehumidifier during the summer months.If you don't have a dehumidifier, using air conditioning and ceiling fans is a great way to keep the humidity in check.
Step 7: When the top 3 inches feel dry, water the soil.
If you stick your finger in the soil up to the middle knuckle, you'll be able to measure the moisture level.When the soil is dry, add water slowly until it comes out of the drainage holes.To make sure forget-me-nots don't get too dry, check the soil every few days during the spring and summer.It's a good idea to cut back on watering during the winter months.Water your forget-me-nots more frequently in the spring.
Step 8: If the leaves look a little yellow,fertilize the soil once a month.
Use a water-solublefertilizer.A clean watering can has 1 gallon of water and 6 grams offertilizer in it.It's a good way to keep your forget-me-nots hydrated when the leaves start to fade.There is no need to fertilize these flowers.
Step 9: Deadhead spent blooms to encourage new growth.
If you pinch the flowers off where they meet the stem, new ones will come in.During the growing season, deadheading can be done twice a week.If you pinch and pull, the flowers will come off easily.
Step 10: Dead stems and leaves can be Prune.
