If you're going to hang pictures on the wall without making any holes, you should use a tool like Velcro. It comes in all shapes and sizes, and there are even strips designed for hanging pictures to make the process easier. You're ready to hang if you have a level, a picture, and some Velcro strips.
Step 1: Purchase strips strong enough to hold your picture.
The Hangables Picture Hanging Strips are designed for hanging picture frames.Pick out the ones that are designed to hold the weight of your frame from a home improvement or big box store. You may need to purchase multiple strips to hang the picture.Depending on the size strip you buy, they can hold up to 16 pounds.Purchase enough strips to put one on each corner of the frame.
Step 2: To clean the wall, wipe it down with a clean cloth.
To remove surface dust, use a dry cloth or wet cloth with clean water. The wall should be dry for a few minutes so the Velcro sticks to it.Cleaning the wall will make the glue sticks better. You can use rubbing alcohol to clean the wall. These strips will be used to attach smooth surfaces.
Step 3: To mark where the picture will go on the wall, use a level.
Decide where you would like the picture frame to hang and hold up a level to the wall.To place your picture on the wall, mark an even line with a pencil.Download a level app on your phone if you don't have a real level.
Step 4: Place the backing off each strip on the frame's corners.
Remove the plastic or paper backing from the frame with the help of a Velcro strip.Press down firmly on the corner of the frame to make it stick. The backing of the strip will tell you if it goes on the wall or the frame.Attach the strip if the backing has an arrow on it, but make sure the arrow is pointing upwards rather than downwards.
Step 5: Place the wall-side Velcro on top of the picture.
Attach the wall-side velcro on the corners of the back of your picture frame so that they stick together. The corner should have a pair of pieces lined up.The side that will stick to the wall should be facing towards you.
Step 6: Take the wall-side backing off and hold it up.
Remove the last pieces of paper or plastic that are covering the sticky side of the Velcro that will attach to the wall.To make sure the picture is even, line your picture frame up against the wall with the marking you made in pencil.
Step 7: The picture should be put into the wall for 30 seconds.
Press the frame into the wall so that the corners of the picture have pressure on them.Keep pressing the picture into the wall for 30 seconds to give it time to stick.
Step 8: The frame should be moved away from the wall to separate it.
Instead of pulling the frame from the wall directly, move it upwards and away so you don't pull off the Velcro. There should be only one thing on the wall.Pull the picture off the wall slowly and be gentle.
Step 9: Rub the wall side for 30 seconds.
Put the picture down and use your fingers to rub the strips that are still attached to the wall. This backing has time to adhere correctly if you do this for at least 30 seconds.
Step 10: After an hour, put the picture back on the wall.
If you let the strips stay on the wall for an hour, they will adhere fully.Hang your picture on the wall after an hour.Put the strips on top of each other and press the picture into the wall so the pieces stick together. It should be easy to remove the Velcro from the picture and wall.
