How to Increase the Alarm Volume on iPhone X - Appuals.com Why is my alarm quiet?

One of the most important things our phones do is make phone calls. It's not fun to miss calls from your boss or family member. It's a real problem when you can't hear your alarm or ringtone because the volume is too low.

The one setting that fixes this problem is shared today.Additional tips will be added to get your phone ringing loudly and consistently.

People with Face ID enabled phones, like the Phone 11 models, notice the problem more than others.

They say that the iPhone XR model often rings or starts an alarm at full volume but then quickly fades out to a level that is hard to hear. The issue seems to be true for people that are hard of hearing.

If your phone's alarm volume goes from loud to low, this tip is for you.

The setting that usually fixes the problem is part of your Face ID.It is called attention aware features.

When this feature is on, the TruthDepth camera checks if you are paying attention and if it believes you, it automatically lowers the volume when you look at the screen when the phone is ringing or when an alarm goes off.

It is strange, but true, that on iPhones with Face ID there are special settings to adjust how loudly your phone rings, and they are located in your Passcode settings!

A lot of our readers with Face ID are missing their alarms. They set the alarm volume so high that they don't hear it in the morning.

If you missed an alarm because it was too low, you need to turn on attention aware features.

To turn off the attention awareness feature, go to your settings for Face ID and Passcode. The problem should be fixed.

Face ID can detect whether or not you are looking at your device by using facial recognition.

Face ID uses facial recognition to verify your identity before you can use your phone.

This technology is used to check if you are looking at your device. When your phone rings, the alarm volume starts at your set volume level, but it reduces the overall volume since it believes you are aware it is ringing.

If your ringer problem is not related to attention aware features, try increasing the overall ringer volume.

If you want to control the volume with the side controls, you should switch the switch for Change with Buttons on.

The physical volume buttons on the side of the phone allow you to manually adjust the volume of your alarms or ringer.

The physical volume buttons don't change the volume of your alarms when this option is off.

Your phone has a switch that will quickly mute sounds. When entering meetings, a movie theatre, or an event where a phone ringing out loud would disturb everyone else, people use this.

There is a ring/silent switch on the left side of your phone, just above the volume buttons. It is possible to control which sounds play through your speaker.

There is no way to separate the volume of your phone calls from the alert volume for things like alarms, texts, emails, messages, and other notifications.

We don't know why Apple ties both the ringer and alert volume to the same volume. It makes no sense for us to use our devices that way.

It's not possible to lower the volume for any alarm you use to wake up in the morning without decreasing the number of calls.

If you want to miss no phone calls, turn down the ringer volume each night and turn it back up in the morning. It's not ideal!

We would like to see Apple separate phone and alarm volume. There is a separate volume for notifications for things like incoming messages and other notifications.

It was perfect to turn the phone over.I can keep the face ID turned on.Thank you!

If you have trouble hearing your alarm when it goes off because it is soft, you don't have to disabling Face ID.If you turn your phone off before you go to sleep, your alarm will go off as normal, and the volume on the phone will be as loud as you want it.

I would like to thank you for your comment about the alarm and ringer volume.I was trying to figure out how to set alarm volumes on my own.I didn't like being blasted out of bed every morning with an alarm that was too loud and then missing an important phone call from my doctor in the morning. It makes no sense that Apple hasn't fixed the problem.I was so proud to upgrade from my 6S to an iPhone 11 and still can't believe that this device has an issue.Correct me if I am wrong, but I should remember to slide the sound and haptics sliders back-and-forth each night and morning. There is a pain in the neck.

The stupidity of Apple is that they need to solve a simple problem with a ridiculous solution. They need to get over their own problems and use technology to simplify them.

I had been missing texts and alarms for a month. It worked like a charm. Thanks for posting this solution.

I wish that the new feature isn't automatically applied to one's device or settings when one does an update.I appreciated the information, but I was wondering why this had changed.

New features are often enabled by Apple because they believe they enhance user experience. Many people prefer to have control over turning things on or off.

Thank you so much! The alarm was playing at the lowest level in the morning.

In order to reprogram everything, Apple told me to take attention aware features out of the case for a day or so.

I disabled the Change with Buttons feature in hopes that it will stop the volume from going up and down on its own.

Thank you.I made the changes you suggested.I hope this resolves my issue.I have had the phone for 2 months and this just started happening in the last few days.I restart the phone several times a day to try and fix it.

I was ready to take a small child to the thing because I am very hard of hearing.

I had a problem with low incoming calls when I upgraded to the new phone, apple could not fix it, so I looked everywhere for a fix, but I couldn't find one.

Some random hardware or software glitch can allow someone to hijack the audio controls.

If the Spotify app is open, your alarm will not ring, and your phone will be silent when you receive a call.!

My 11 Pro Max is unaffected by this because user preferences and settings are transferred over from the XS Max.

Why hasn't apple solved the issue of the alarm being super quiet when the attention aware feature is on?This issue has been going on for a long time.

This has to be the dumbest thing that has ever been done.

I have to put up with this stupidity because I didn't choose the phone, it is a company supplied one.

I just moved from a phone to an apple device and can't believe I cannot separate media notification volumes from ringer volumes. This should be easy to use.I want my phone to be loud so I don't miss calls, but now I have to listen to every other app that I still want to hear, even though it's not as loud.
