Most electrical wiring goes from one point to the next. They protect the wires from the outside environment so as to make the wire last longer and also to keep humans and pets safe from electric shocks. The electrical conduits are mostly made of sturdy material.Although it is best suited for a professional electrician to accomplish most electrical conduit fittings, there are some minor ones that you can easily do on your own.
Step 1: You should choose the right material for conduit installation.
EMT is known as the most preferred material.EMT is very easy to install because you can bend it and assemble it as you please. If your wiring goes wrong, you can take it off.You can buy EMT from any of the electrical surplus stores if you don't have it in your house.
Step 2: Get a wiring plan.
To find the route of the conduit, you need to locate the electrical boxes on your wall.Take the path from the power source to the electrical box.
Step 3: Measure the amount of conduit you need.
Measure the total length of the conduit that would be needed to finish the entire electrical conduit fittings, and make appropriate marks in pencil wherever you think the bends should be.You just measured the length using a tool called a hacksaw.A deburring tool or pliers can be used to remove burrs from the cut ends.
Step 4: The necessary bends should be made.
It's time to make the bends that you marked on the pipe in the previous step. This shouldn't be difficult because of the easy flexibility of EMT.The bending can be done with conduit benders.
Step 5: Attach the fitting to the wall.
You can use screws and straps with either single or double holes, available at electrical surplus shops, to attach electrical conduit to the wall.
Step 6: Put the wires in place by taping the ends.
Run the fish tape through the entire route of the conduit you just installed.Attach the ends of the electrical wires with fish tape.Pull the wire from the pipe in the right place.
