Windows NT 4.0 is a closed source operating system that was released on July 31, 1996 for business users.The interface was similar to Windows 95.The operating system succeeded Windows NT 3.51 but did not succeed Windows 2000.The NT family lives on all Microsoft operating systems.This article will show you how to install a program.
Step 1: There is a Windows NT installation disc.
Step 2: Press enter to continue the installation.
Step 3: Press the PgDn key to get to the bottom.
Many people don't bother to read the terms and conditions, but it's important to know what you're signing up for.
Step 4: Press F8 if you want to accept the terms.
Step 5: Check to see if the list matches the specifications of your computer.
Step 6: Press Enter if you want to install Windows NT on your hard drive.
The instructions will show you what to do.
Step 7: You can partition your hard drive by choosing a file system.
This is the first time that NTFS was used.If you use files larger than 4GB, you can use NTFS, but not on floppy disks.
Step 8: Wait for the process to finish.
Step 9: When that is done, enter where you want the operating system's main files to be stored.
Leave it where the system recommends.
Step 10: You should see this screen if everything goes well.
When you press Enter.Make sure you boot from the boot menu, not the disk, otherwise it will repeat the installation.
Step 11: Wait for the screen to show up.
You can click next.
Step 12: Click Next to choose the type of setup you want.
The 'Typical' setup is a Microsoft default setup and it's a matter of personal preference.
Step 13: Click Next if you want to type your name and organisation.
Step 14: Click next if you want to type in a name for your computer.
Step 15: If you want, add a password.
It's a good idea to have a password for your computer.
Step 16: If something bad happens to Windows NT, an emergency repair disk can be used.
We won't be making one.
Step 17: You can choose your components preference.
We will install the most common components.
Step 18: You can click next.
Step 19: Pick your preferred network.
It is once again a personal preference.Choose "This computer will participate on a network" if you want to be able to connect to the internet.Do not connect this computer to a network at this time.You can connect to a network at any time.
Step 20: Click to finish.
Step 21: Click close if you want to make sure your date, time and time zone are correct.
Step 22: Click OK to make sure your display settings are correct.
Unless there is a real issue with the display, leave these settings alone.
Step 23: If you want to restart the computer, remove all the floppy disks and CDs.
Step 24: The keys should be pressed in order.
Step 25: Press OK if you type in your password.
The Administrator can change the settings of the computer.If you want to keep the Administrator account separate, you can create another account.
Step 26: Windows NT 4.0 has been installed after you are presented with this screen.
