How To Level The Ground For Your Pool is a step-by-step guide that explains how to level the ground for your pool.
How much would it cost to level a 15 by 30 area for an above the ground pool?
I used to get asked this question at least a half a dozen times a year when I was installing pools. It's a big question. The majority of my jobs were done over the phone. My days were spent in the field.I tried to do everything over the phone because I didn't have time for on site estimates.
The cost to install a 15 x 30 was seven hundred dollars. It would include leveling up to six inches. An extra leveling charge may be brought if the measurement is over six inches. If I showed up to install a pool on the side of a mountain, I had an escape clause. If I break out the jackhammer and get to it, I might bid the job with the extra leveling charges included. It was justified when this happened.
When it came to leveling only jobs, I would try to protect myself the same way.Out of a seven hundred dollar job, normal leveling would be a couple hundred dollars. For a normal backyard, I would remove the grass and laser level the pool area.I was very careful about bidding these jobs.I had a talk with my customer before the work started if the ground was not described over the phone or not watered correctly.
I'm not sure if you're a pool builder or a homeowner looking for advice on a leveling estimate.
The best way to determine how long it will take is to look at the yard.Decide how much you want to make in an hour. This might help if you don't want to look at the yard.Between 1 1/2 hours and 2 hours is how long it would take to remove sod and level the pool area.I would be willing to pay two hundred dollars for it.I have a two or three man crew. When we arrived at the job site, it was business as usual. We collected a check and were off to the next job.
If you are looking at estimates, you can see how the prices vary. Will they laser level the area to within one inch is the most important factor in my mind. The base of an above ground pool is important.

I am considering getting an above ground pool. What is the best way to prepare the ground and how much will it cost? Thanks, Cindy.
There are pages showing an above ground pool being installed. The base preparations are different.
A base of smooth dirt is what you want. You can get this by removing a mountain or 10 tons of fill dirt. Two yards are not the same. You should treat the grass and weeds after the ground is level. If you only have a few weeds, about ten dollars worth of weed killer would do the trick.
If you already have smooth level dirt, you can rent a transit to fine tune the leveling and make it perfect.
