A paint roller increases the surface area you'd be able to cover with a convention brush and can make painting walls and ceilings a lot easier.Load your paint roller correctly before you start painting.A paint roller can be loaded with a tray or bucket. It will cut down on the number of coats you need to put on a wall if you put paint onto your roller before you start painting.
Step 1: Wait until the well is halfway filled.
Carefully pour the paint from the can into your paint tray.If you overfill the paint tray you could cause it to overflow. It will be harder to load your roller if you fill the well too much.
Step 2: The paint roller should be put into the well.
Roll your paint roller into the well filled with paint from the ribbed section of the paint tray. You don't have to go all the way to the bottom of the well to saturate your paint roller.
Step 3: The ribbed section of the paint tray needs to be rolled over.
Roll the roller back onto the tray to get rid of some of the paint. To get excess paint off your roller, go back and forth over the ribbed section of the paint tray.
Step 4: If you do it five to six times, it will evenly distribute the paint.
Continue to go back and forth from the well to the ribbed section of the paint tray until your roller is completely saturated with paint. It's loaded when it feels heavy and the paint looks good on the roller.
Step 5: There is a roller screen in the bucket.
You can get a bucket with a roller screen from the hardware store or online. You can hang the screen on the lip of your bucket with two hooks.Put the screen on the inside of the bucket. The roller screen is attached to buckets.
Step 6: Put paint in your bucket.
If you fill the bucket halfway with paint, make sure that at least half of the roller screen is out.
Step 7: The roller should be put into the paint.
The roller should be dipped 1/2 in.The paint had been put into it.The roller screen can be used to guide the paint roller. If you dip the roller too deep into the bucket, you'll get paint on the side of it.
Step 8: The paint roller needs to be rolled against the roller screen.
Roll the roller up against the screen after you've saturated it with paint. You should be able to see the paint dripping off the roller and back into the bucket.
Step 9: The steps can be repeated five or six times.
After dipping the roller into the water, roll it onto your screen. You're ready to paint when your roller is fully saturated.
Step 10: lint can be removed from the roller with painter's tape.
Wrap painter's tape around your fingers with the sticky side facing out.The roller must be completely free of lint before the tape can be applied. You need to remove lint from the roller in order to get an even paint job.
Step 11: Make sure the paint is mixed thoroughly.
Before you load your roller, you'll want to make sure that the paint is smooth.Make sure you thoroughly stir the paint with a painter's mixing stick or paddle before you transfer it to your paint tray or bucket.
Step 12: After loading the roller, sit it for a minute.
Wait for a minute to allow the paint to soak into the roller once you've loaded it.It will make your paint job more smooth.
Step 13: The roller should beprimed with water for water-based paints.
It's possible to make it easier to load your roller with water based paint.Put your roller under the water.Roll the roller six or seven times in the air, then wash it off with paper towels. It may make applying and loading your paint roller easier if you primer it.
