Greasers are a working-class youth subculture that originated in the 1950s.This guide shows you how to look like a greaser from the movie "Grease" or the book "The Outsiders."The greaser looks are shown in the TV show Happy Days.Style and toughness are part of the big aura of attitude you put out.
Step 1: You have to get the attitude.
If you want to be a cool cat, ladies man who gets all the hottest ladies, or a hard person, you have to decide from the beginning.Stand up for yourself and those who can't.
Step 2: You should get the look.
Do not own a white undershirt with a black tee and white cuffs.Greasers will call you a poser if it shows you are just starting out.You can get Levi's 501s, rustler jeans or any straight-legged, slim (not skinny), or boot-cut jeans, and cuff either 1–4 inches ( 2.5–10.2 cm) or degrees for cold weather. If you have a school uniform that is not strict, you can wear Levi's tan jeans and shirt, roll the sleeves up, wear a jacket, crop your pants, and wear chucks. If you want to get skinny blue jeans for girls, roll them up or wear leather pants. You can buy fitted t-shirts of any colour, western shirts, bowling shirts and slim fit suits with a bola or plain tee.You could wear khaki shorts, a tee-shirt, and Chuck Taylor's or timberland boots if you wanted to work out or exercise. They are good for everyday wear.Wear leather bomber jackets in the winter.
Step 3: Chuck Taylors, Harley Davidson biker boots, and steel toe Gripfast boots are available for purchase.
A pair of heavy boots, like Harley Davidson or Doc Martin's will do.If you want to be a real slick cat, you need to get some creeps such as T.U.K.S.Or are they wingtips?
Step 4: The hair needs to be right.
The main styles are pom pads, afro-dours, part/afro arts, conk, Jheri curls, the quiff, elephant's trunk, or slicked back. You can get greasy curls pin-ups for girls if you want to show you are a greaser.Jersey shore's hairstyle would work.As long as you show that you are a greaser, you can make your own combinations. If you don't want long hair, you can get a short crew cut, or a shirt version if a hightop fade, which were popular in the '50s.A fedora or a paperboy hat is an option.Make sure it's a real fedora made of feeling with a shiny band around it tied into a bow or leather cap.
Step 5: There are some really cool accessories.
Step 6: You can learn the Greaser culture.
For girls the movie "American Graffiti" is pretty in pink, and for greasers the movies "The Outsiders" and "Rebel Without a Cause" are good.Greasers don't like the movie because it creates an over-dramatic stereotype.
Step 7: Rock n Roll, Rockabilly and other 1950s style music can be heard.
The Stray Cats, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis, charlie feathers, Carl, Chuck, Ray Campi and his Rockabilly Rebels.
Step 8: Get tattoos.
The old school "Sailor Jerry" style tats are the best.Pinup Girls and Hearts are common Greaser or Rockabilly themed tattoos.A "tough" image will always be portrayed by tattoos. You can get tattoos on your arms, chest or back.
Step 9: Greaser wheels are researched.
A Hot Rod, '50s or 60's muscle car or motorcycle is common. If you know a lot about cars, go to the show with your friends.
Step 10: Steak 'n' Shake and Dairy Queen are two good examples of hangouts.
If you want to take your muscle car, walk there with a strut.
