How To Look up a Bible Verse

The places where that word is found in the Bible will be listed on the concordance.If you want to know if it is the verse you are looking for, a complete concordance will give you some context.Look up the complete verse and its context in your bible by using the location that the concordance gives you.

Step 9: If necessary, try another translation.

They are specific to the translations.Try a different translation if you can't find the verse you're looking for.If the English word "praise" is translated into the Bible as "worship", it will be impossible to find the verse.

Step 10: The verse number can be searched online.

Go to a website dedicated to Bible study if you choose a search engine.You can type in the book's name and chapter and verse numbers into the search engine.If you can, type the verse number in the format generally accepted.If you type, "John 3:16," you will get more accurate results.

Step 11: What do you have to say about the verse?

Do you remember something from the verse?Maybe you remember the name of the book.You can still look up the verse even if you can't remember much.

Step 12: You can enter what you know into the search engine.
