Rocks look cool if they are smoothed to a bright shine, but you won't find many if you are not near a river or beach.Commercial rock tumblers aren't really worth it if you only have a few to do, and shaking a jar for weeks is long and boring. You can learn how to make a drill-mount rock tumbler with things you already have at home.
Step 1: Start with a wide mouth jar that has mayonnaise or peanut butter in it.
Step 2: For a simple support and lining the jar with rubber matting will extend the life of the plastic, use a metal, or other material as a spacer.
Step 3: The first inch or two of the jar should be filled with equal parts sand and water.
Step 4: If you want your bolt to fit, you have to drill a small hole in the lid.
Step 5: Use rubber washers/o-rings instead of hot glue to apply to the area around the drilled hole.
Step 6: The bolt should stick out of the hole if you pull it through it.
Right away, tighten the bolt.Lock the firsts position with the second bolt.
Step 7: Allow the glue to dry.
Step 8: Attach rocks, screw on the lid, and tighten the drill chuck.
