Do you want to send a card for someone's birthday, holidays, or just because? This is a simple way to make a greeting card.
Step 1: The card work area can be created using the rectangle tool.
You should keep the elements of your text/ images within the boundaries of the safety line because cards are generally a standard size of 5 inches by 7 inches. The tolerance around your card should be bigger than the safety line around 0.25 inches.
Step 2: Make a guide out of your second rectangle.
Click on the #2 line if you want to make guides.Another line can be created. This line extends the background color all the way to the edges of your card.It serves as another guide if you set it bigger than your cutting line.
Step 3: The following image shows your work area.
There are three lines: the safety line, the cutting line and the bleeding line.
Step 4: You can draw any picture you like.
The look will depend on the type of greeting card you want to send. The card is an example of a birthday card. The ellipse tool can be used to create an image of a balloon or any other circular object.
Step 5: To adjust your shape, use the direct selection tool.
The circle is starting to look like a balloon because its sides are tapered downwards.
Step 6: Use any of the shape tools or the freehand drawing tool to add other elements to your initial shape.
A small triangle is drawn and positioned at the bottom of the balloon, then connected using the add to shape area.
Step 7: Use the tool to color your image.
For candy apple red with a bit of shine, set the first color to C, M, Y, K, and the second to white, with border strokes of zero.Use radial mode to complete the step.
Step 8: You can duplicate your image if you want several of the same shape.
If you make a new circle, make it fit like a shadow.Select the circle and the copy of the original balloon and then click on the Minus Front to expand.Pick Multiply to see the shadow on the original balloon.Maybe you should change the color.
Step 9: You can use the pen tool to make your shapes.
The pencil tool can be used to draw thin lines, like the strings on the balloons here.
Step 10: If you want to write over part of your image, position them at your work area.
If you want the background to be fainter, set the portion to transparency to 30 or more.
Step 11: The type tool can be used to write your text.
You can change the effect on the text by going to Effect and selecting it.
Step 12: You can print a sample copy of your card.
This will show you if your images look weird in the way you've positioned them, or if the text is too small. If you like the look of your card, you can print out as many as you need. You have created your very own greeting card in Adobe Illustrator.
