It's great to have paper skeletons. They're popular for Halloween decorations or just for fun.Making a paper skeleton at home is a great way to learn about bones and have fun at the same time.
Step 1: Pick paper.
Pick a piece of paper to make your skeleton.Printer paper is cheap and works well.Cardstock is more expensive because it will hold its shape better.Paper plates have more strength than printer paper.
Step 2: There is a skeleton image.
You can use an image of a skeleton as a model.On-line you can find skeletons.A cartoon skeleton is easier to work with than a scientific picture.
Step 3: The skeleton can be divided into parts.
The parts of the skeleton that make up the paper skeleton should be separated. Each part will be made from a piece of paper.2 Lower-leg bones with feet and 2 Skull (head) Rib cage Pelvis.
Step 4: The arms should be created.
An upper and a lower arm make up the arms. Each part of the arm should be covered with one piece of paper or Cardstock.Use the skeleton picture as a guide to draw the bones on paper.Draw out two bone shapes for a skeleton. One for upper arm and one for lower arm.The arm has more than one bone in it.Draw details on the parts of the arm or follow a more detailed model. The upper arm has a bone. The ulna is in the lower arm. There is a lot of bones in the hand.Draw them for a detailed skeleton.
Step 5: The arms should be cut out.
Cut around the arms with scissors.
Step 6: The legs have to be created.
The legs have the same shape as the arms. There are two main sections, an upper leg and a lower leg.Cut out the leg bones after you have created them.Draw out two bone shapes for a skeleton. For the upper and lower legs, use one with a foot on it.There are more than two bones in the leg for a more detailed skeleton. The upper leg is called the femur; the lower leg bones are the tibia and fibula. The bones of the foot are called tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges. If you want a more correct skeleton, make the legs one and a half times the arms.
Step 7: Remove the legs.
The outlines of the legs can be cut with scissors.
Step 8: The ribs and pelvis should be made.
The ribs and pelvis can be created by following the drawing. They should be cut out.Make 12 pairs of ribs. The shoulder blades, sockets, and collar bones are near the ribs. The sacrum and coccyx are at the end of the spine.
Step 9: The head needs to be created.
Cut out a skull by drawing it on paper.Eye sockets and a nose sockets should be included.Draw the bottom jaw and teeth for a more detailed skull.
Step 10: There are punch holes.
Attach the parts of your skeleton with a hole puncher. You can use a knife if you don't have a hole puncher. There is a hole at the bottom of the skull. To connect the skull and the pelvis, punch a hole at the top and bottom of the ribs.Put a hole in the top of the body. The upper arms and legs have holes punched in them. There are holes at the top of the arms and legs.
Step 11: Choose the right ones.
The parts can be attached with string or brass. There are brass bolts at craft stores. The skeleton has a looser look because of the string. The brass is fastened tightly to hold bones.
Step 12: Attach the bones.
Fasten the skeleton pieces with brass. The ribs are connected to the bottom of the skull. The hip/pelvis bones are fastened to the upper legs. The upper arms are connected to the shoulder blades. The lower legs and lower arms connect to the upper legs.
